The production value of farming, aquatic and forest products is estimated to reach VND 5,428.4 billion or 81.4 percent of the plan, up 5% compared to the same period. Specifically, cultivation up 5.6%, breeding up 3.4% and service up 3.6%. The production value of forestry reached VND 52.2 billion or 79.3 percent of the plan, up 5.6% and that of aquaculture reached VND 345.6 billion or 75% of the plan, up 3.2%.

The total planted area of annual crops in three harvests is 200,581 hectares, hitting 101.2 percent of the plan, up 0.1%. The planted area of winter – spring crop is 35.593 hectares with the rice output of 52.3 metric quintals per hectare and the corn output of 67.3 q/ha. In the summer-autumn crop, 87,365 hectares were cultivated with the rice output of 42.1 q/ha and the corn output of 48.9 q/ha.

Concerning breeding, since the beginning of the year, bird flu epidemic has not appeared, foot and mouth disease epidemic has hit some localities but it was timely controlled not to spread. Up to August, the total number of pigs in the province is 1.105 million, 13.2 percent lower than the same period, buffaloes with 5,650 million, down 3.9%, oxen with 107.439 million, down 0.3% and poultry with 4.97 million up 6.8% compared to the same period.
