Focus on planting vegetables, flowers, orchards in the city.
Because of concentration on central industrial development, at the present the area of agricultural land in the city has been narrowed a lot while according to general projects for urban development to 2010 and visions to 2020 are concentration on growing industrial plants in 8 wards and communes include Tan Hanh, Tan Bien, Tan Phong, Hiep Hoa, Hoa An, Thong Nhat, Long Binh Tan and Trang Dai with total area of 497.24 hectares.
Depend on that, from now on to 2020, city will divide the area of agricultural land into 5 areas. The first area in the areas of high terrace in the North with mixture of sandy and a little rich soil (Tan Bien, Trang Dai, Tan Phong) which is suitable for specializing safely in vegetable growth. The second area includes the area 40 hectares around Trang Dai Ward’ rubbish dump which is rather less rich than the first, so it encourages people in intensive farming of cashew-nut and acassia aneura to make an isolation around dump. The third area includes 10.6 hectares in the area of Binh Hoa Village, Hoa An Commune where suit to grow fruit-trees such as: mango or grape-fruit. The fourth area consists of communes: Hiep Hoa and Tan Hanh with orientation of intensive farming of rambutan and grape-fruit; ponds will be served for development of tourism and entertainment. The fifth area includes Co Island (Thong Nhat Ward) and Ba Xe Island (Long Binh Tan Ward) encouraged in grape-fruit cultivating.
Therefore city will be focused on safely vegetable growing; flowering with orchids, bonsai, ornamental plant; intensive cultivating of cashew-nut and keep rice cultivation in Hiep Hoa to 2010. Besides, fruit-trees are grown in the low area and eco-tourism resorts such as: grape-fruit and mango
Projects of raft fishery villages fit ecological scenery
Dong Nai has system of water reservoirs, systems of Dong Nai River, La Nga River, Dong Tranh River and many cannels with total area of water surface 69.103 that is convenient for aquaculture. For a long time, raft fishery makes high income and stable jobs for hundreds of households in Bien Hoa city. However, environmental pollution in this area is more serious and effect to water resource and urban views.
Now there are 359 households breeding fishes in raft and 867 rafts developed in the city, with concentration on Hiep Hoa Commune, Tan Mai Ward, Long Binh Tan Ward. Most households depend on natural conditions and majority of rafts are in the right bank and left bank of Dong Nai that cause water-pollution. Therefore, projects of villages of raft fishery are very necessary.
According to projects, city will develop villages of raft fishery oriented intensive breeding at moderate level that fit to people’s technological skills, management, and capability for investment with the density from 120 fishes per square, and using industrial food for fishing. Based on that, Hiep Hoa Commune will be set 226 rafts which ordered to line No.1 and line No.2 along the right bank of Song Cai River and depend on the width of water surface from Rach Cat to wharfs; Long Binh Tan Ward with 25 rafts will be set in the bank of Ba Xe Island and the left bank of Dong Nai River in the area of Long Binh Tan Ward. According to investor’s evaluation, projects of villages of raft fishery in Bien Hoa city is very meaningful in environmental and ecological protection that contributes to develop strongly fishery in rafts on Dong Nai River, and secure city’s scenery.
