Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen PhuCuong is making his speech at the new year progress meeting
To ensure a safe and happy Tet holiday for the local residents, the provincial Party Committee decided to spend 340.8 billion dong from the budget to support any Party member with 30 years of seniority or higher, families with meritorious service to the revolution, Vietnam heroic Mothers, families in special condition, public servants and officials of the province or district and some particular targets… In addition to that, the districts, Long Khanh town and B ienHoa city organized an advocacy campaign to call organizations and individuals on giving 51,000 gifts to families in preferential treatment policy or poor condition, children with special condition which is equal to more than 18.7 billion dong and 3,900kg of rice and other necessities.
The situation of goods supply, market and price manangement strictly followed the plan of the provincial People’s Committee; 37 units reserved goods for Tet holiday with the total value of 1,100 billion dong, increasing by 33% compared to that of 2016. The market price during Tet holiday of 2017 was deemed as stable compared to that of 2016, some localities witnessed a light decrease in purchasing power; commercial centers and supermarkets provided publicly listed prices on each category… However, some item cagegories saw an increase in price before Tet holiday such as beer with the increase of 20,000 – 30,000/box; pomalo fruits with the increases of 100 – 200%; sweet mango fruits with the increase of 100%... The investigation into and management over the market, food safety and hygiene was conducted properly.
Cultural activities, performances and sport event celebrating the new year were carefully prepared in various forms. Tourist attractions and recreational parks attracted 139,000 visitors from the 1st to the 5th of Lunar New Year, which increased 12% compared to that of 2016, and the total evenue from the tickets soled was estimated to reach 14 billion dong, which increased by 18.5% compared to that of 2016…
The political security and social order, fire and explosion prevention was ensured. Telecommunication, water and power supply ran smoothly.
In order to cooperatively bring a happy holiday to the workers, enterprises tried their best to offer salary increase and bonuses. Accordingly, the average bonus of FDI enterprises was 6.1 million dong; that of joint stock companies with State capital was 8.2 million dong; that of enterprises with 100% state capital was 11.6 million dong and that of private businesses was 4.8 million dong… Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Ding Quoc Thai assessed that the care for the local residents and the preparation for Tet holiday was done according to plans, reaching the set targets: a happy, safe and money-efficient holiday. This is the basis for the province to strive to fullfil the targets set by the Resolution in 2017.
Speaking at the progress meeting, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen PhuCuong emphasized that, all of the officials, party members and the local residents showed strong solidarity, good preparation and proper care for the people from all strata. However, it was essential that the all officies of all levels begin to work seriously with 100% responsibilities after the long holiday and fulfull the missions setforth in 2017, especially the leaders of all levels of Party Committees, goverments, deparments, unions, officials, party members must show exemplary characteristics for subordinates to follow. The whole province simultaneously concentrates and strives to achieve the goals of the 2017 plan with the best results.
* Lunar New Year holiday 2017 took place in a joyful, safe and thrifty atmosphere, ensuring security and order in the area, creating excitement among the people inthe spring spirit. This was a general assessment at the new year progress meeting by the Party Committee of Bien Hoa city held in the morning of the sixth day of the Lunar New Year.
According to Bien Hoa city’s People's Committee, before, during and after Tet the city has been concentrating on controlling commodity quality and prices, more specifically there are 24 venues selling stabilized price productswith more than 300 tons of Tet goods for the people, equal to the total value of VND8 billion. 40 intercity buses and 33 inner city buses were put in to use to serve the people on Tet holiday. The Labor Federation of TP. Bien Hoa encouraged enterprises to provide their vehicles to support transportation for workers, hand over 1,000 Tet gifts and organize 3 nights of stage performance for the wokers. The city called onenterprises to donate over 12,000 gifts worth nearly 3.5 billion VND to poor households. Bien Hoa also paid many visits andgave Tet gifts to families with preferential treatment policy and units serving the community during Lunar New Year.
However, during the Lunar New Year, there were 4 traffic accidents in Bien Hoa with 5 dead and 7 injured. The city leaders promptly visited and sent the most sincere condolences to the victims' families and ordered to investigate the accidents.
Speaking at the new year progress meeting, Secretary of the Bien Hoa Party Committee Le Van Dan recommended the agencies and units resume working normally; In the immediate future focus on the 87th anniversary of the establishment of the Party on Feb 3rd, carefully organizethe army recruitment and perform other key tasks from the beginning of the new year...
* In the morning of Feb 2nd, Xuan Loc district held thenew year meeting of 2017 to assess the political security, social order and safety in the district before, during and after the Lunar New Year.
Accordingly, the new year celebration activities took place in a joyful and safe atmosphere of the district. During the Lunar New Year, the district paid visits and donated over 11,000 Tet presents to policy beneficiaries, poor households and ethnic minority households with the total value of VND 4.2 billion. At the same time, many cultural programs were organized to celebrate the Party, welcome the spring to serve the needs of enjoying the spiritual culture of the people. The status of political security, social order and safety before, during and after the Lunar New Year was stable, Xuan Loc people welcomed Xuan DinhDau in a happy and happy atmosphere.
* In the morning of Feb 2nd, Commander of the Provincial Military Command, Colonel Tran Ngoc Khai rewarded the cadres and soldiers who took holiday shiftsand supported the functional force during Tet holiday.
During the Lunar New Year holiday, 100% of military units, police and fire protection organized shifts 24 hours a day, making sure that the people could enjoy the holiday safely. According to the fire prevention Police, there was no fire reported in the area, security and order situation was maintained.
Previously, on January 22nd, the delegations of the Party Committee and the Provincial Millitary Command paid visits and gave presents to cadres and soldiers of 10 platoons of the regular militia who wereon Tet shifts. Accordingly, the leaders of the the Provincial Millitary Commandhighly appreciated the coordination between the regular militia and the functional forces in ensuring all aspects of safety for enterprises and laborers in the industrial zones in the area, which was also highly appreciated by investors.
* On the beginning days of DinhDau Spring 2017, across districts, towns and Bien Hoa citythere werevarious cultural and artistic activities to serve of the people and tourists.
In the morning of January 30th (the third day of Lunar New Year), the Department of Education and Training coordinated with the People's Committee of Bien Hoa City and Tran Bien Temple of Literature Center celebrated the Teacher’s Tet 2017. Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen PhuCuong; Chairman of the provincial People's Committee DinhQuoc Thai; Leaders of departments, agencies and teachers, pupils and students of schools in the city attended the ceremony.
At the ceremony, delegates offered incense in front of the altar of President Ho Chi Minh and the sages of the country. On this occasion, students also presented teachers with fresh flowers expressing their sincere gratitude to teachers.
The annual Teacher’s Tet festival held at Tran Bien Temple of Literature Center has become a tradition of the education sector in the early days of spring, which thereby, educates students the tradition of studying and the culture of "being deferential to the teacher and respect their morals" of the Vietnamese people in general and the people of Dong Nai in particular.

• Spring Press Festival and Spring Flower Festival Xuan Dinh Xuan Dau 2017 opened on January 23rd and lasted until the 6th day of the Lunar New Year.
DinhDau Spring Press Festival 2017 was organized by the Department of Propaganda of the Provincial Party Committee, Journalists Association in association with Tran Bien Temple of Literture Center. The Spring Press Festival presented more than 400 Springnewspapers and magazines of the central and local press agencies; 12 newsletters of departments; 56 newsletters of grassroots units. At the same time, the exhibition displayed 50 photos reflecting the lives and people of Dong Nai province.
At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to the articles of 7 departments and 13 articles of communes, wards and towns. Particularly, the Department of Foreign Affairs won the first prize in the category of department and agencies; Ho Nai Ward (Bien Hoa City) won the first prize of in the category of communes, wards and towns.

The Spring Festival this year displayed nearly 500 bonsai, dried plants, stone art works of 68 artists inside and outside the province. The organizers awarded 13 prizes in 13 categories: big, medium, small, mini bonsai; Fruit trees; big, medium and small yellow apricot trees… for the artists whohadoutstanding works.
* In the evening of Jan 22nd (the 25th of December of the lunar calendar), the People's Committee of Bien Hoa City officially opened Nguyen Van Tri Flower Street. With the theme "Bien Hoa–the City of Spring and aspirations", the flower street stretching from Nguyen Van Tri - Hoang Minh Chua junction to CauMoi is over 500m long, with a budget of over 5 billion VND. The Flower street are open to the public and visitors to the end of Feb 3rd (the 7th of Lunar New Year).
* In the morning of Jan 26th(December 29th of Lunar calendar), the provincial library officially opened the Reading room of DinhDauSpring 2017. The spring newspaper reading room displays more than 600 spring newspapers and magazines; 135 document photos of all kinds and 500 books to serve readers in the early days of Spring.
* In the evening of Jan 27th(30th of December of lunar calendar), at the Convention and Event Center, the Department of Culture and Information held an stage performanceevent to celebrate the New Year with the theme "Dong Naiwith spring colors 2017". The eventwelcomed the participation of singers, actors from Dong Naidance and music crew and singers from Hochimin city.
From 7:00PMto 10:30PM on the New Year Eve, at the outdoor stage on Nguyen Van Tri Flower Street, there was a music and dance show entitled "Bien Hoa in Spring"; at Tran Bien Temple of Literature, there was a music program celebrating the New Year 2017 that attracted thousands of people and visitors.
In the districts, town the atmosphere of celebrating and welcoming Tet was exciting; many people looked forward to a new year with new hope and faith.
* Up to February 2nd (the sixth day of the Lunar New Year), there were more than 160,000 visitors coming to the tourist attractions in the province. At Buu Long, Mango Garden(Bien Hoa city), Chua Chan scenic spot and tourist site (Xuan Loc district), Suoi Mo tourist site(Tan Phu district), the number of visitors increased by nearly 30,000 over the same period last year. Especially, Buu Long Resort has increased more than 40,000 visitors; Chua Chan mountain tourist sitesaw over 35,000 visitors; Mango Garden welcomed 27,000 visitors; Suoi Mo greeted 25,000 visitors. Most of the tourist resorts in the province had many special performances such as music, comedy, magic... to serve visitors.

State agencies and offices resume working
In the afternoon of Feb 2nd, most cadres, civil servants and officials of the State administrative agencies in the province were back to work seriously after the Lunar New Year holiday; public service agencies were open to all residents.
Director of the Department of Justice VienHong Tien said that in the morning of February 2nd, 100% of officials and employees of the divisions in the department resume working normally. After the new year progress meeting, the department celebrated the 87th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Also on the first working day, many people came to the workplace, but the number of records reduced by about 50% compared to normal days.
Up to today, Feb 3rd, there were some resumingtheir operation. At the local bus stations, the number of workers from the northern and the central provinces... heading back to work was bustling. By Feb 6th, all businesses in the area will resume operations.
