With that thinking, they do not hold the secret for themselves, instead, they work together to enhance the application of science and technology; go into large-scale production and ensure the quality.
* Dynamic farmers
Mr. Tran Anh Tung (Binh Son commune, Long Thanh district) is one of the typical farmers of Dong Nai province to receive the recognition of “Best Vietnamese Farmers 2016”. His success story came from the thinking that farmers did not mean working out on the field; meanwhile to increase the effectiveness, there should be the application of new machinery and technology. He installed an automatic watering system and a wind generator to make durian trees produce fruits. He also spent time making research and creating a multifunctional spraying machine to reduce the labor force. He is also the first farmer in the local to switch his 2,5ha durian orchard into VietGAP model. Therefore,  his durian productivity has increased from 13 tons/ha to more than 20 tons/ha.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quan (BaoBinh commune, Cam My district) is recognized for successfully developing a specialized cultivation area of 20 ha to grow citrus trees such as: tangerine, pomelo and seedless lime… This is a great advantage for him to synchronize his production to make it easier for management. Mr. Quan shares that: “I don’t focus on only quantity. It depends on the capacity of each tree that I decide a proper quantity for it to ensure the highest rate of big size and quality with high value and less work. He also spends time on pruning trees to ensure its proper height to save land area and effort when collecting fruits. This is a reason why he expanded planting area for seedless lime trees which are well consumed in the market. Many traders collect this kind of fruit to supply the supermarkets so he doesn’t have to be concerned about the output.
On Tet occasion, the Rhynchostylisorchid garden of Mrs. Pham Ai Phi (Bien Hoa city) supplied thousands of pots to the market. For the last 2 years, Mrs. Phi has focused on developing the well-knownRhynchostylis orchid, which has much higher value than other orchids. Her orchid garden is equipped with hangers, nets and automatic watering system… According to Mrs. Phi: “There is not much space in the city, payment for labor is high, in order to earn more from farming, I decided to focus on high technology, serving a specific target market which demands unique products. Mrs. Phi’s orchid garden with only more than 1 thousand square meters has been highly profitable because it is specialized in producing orchids which are not easy to find in the market.
* Actively finding the market
Mr. Tran Anh Tung shares that: “Long Thanh is well-known for special durian and delicious fruits. Local farmers are now paying more attention to VietGAP model to produce safe and quality products.” This is the reason why farmers who are familiar with working hard in the orchards and gardens are now determined to learn how to do business. In 2016, Mr. Tung introduced new trading and packaging services at home; concurrently invested in a clean durian store in Long Thanh district. He contacted Co.opmart Bien Hoa to open a display stand to sell durian fruits meeting VietGAP standards. He had his product labeled and marked with his address and phone number, after just 1 week, many customers contacted him to place orders. On behalf of the local farmers, he negotiated with the representatives of supermarkets about displaying VietGAPdurian fruits.
In the context where pig farmers are facing a lot of difficulties in finding output for their products, members of Hung Loc GAHP artel1 (Thong Nhat district) have no worries concerning that issue because pigs reaching market weight are completely purchased at a higher price compared with that in the market. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kim Cuc, leader of Hung Loc GAHP artel 1 established a good relationship between farmers and enterprises. This woman also actively attends training sessions about the process of data input and activating pig trace system in accordance with the scheme of technology and information application in pig management, identity and trace by the Department of Industry and Trade of HCMC. She doesn’t hesitate to study how to make documents and debt calculation, using computer to better manage orders from enterprises. Mrs. Cuc proudly shares that: “Since last year, the artel has linked with enterprises in HCMC to ensure the output for the members’ products. Now we have two enterprises that completely purchase the products.”
