The closing conference on preparation for calling upon citizens to enlist as soldiers in the first stage

The selection for citizens to enlist as soldiers is one of the significant affairs of the duty to build up the all-people national defense and the People’s armed-force. Identifying that duty right from the beginning of the year, Executive Committee and local authorities had official correspondence, in which directions are given to check ages, organize age confirmation, widely organize public selection and carry out medical check-ups. Although the troop transfer quota of the province was 37.09 percent greater than the last year, all of seven localities that selected and called upon citizens to enlist as soldiers in the first stage fulfilled the selection quota, in both quality and quantities thanks to careful preparation. The rate of the young people, who met the health standard, is 1.31 percent greater than the first stage of 2006. All get academic standard above secondary degree. The number of members of the Communist Party reached 5 percent compared with the quota.

Addressing at the closing conference, Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh appreciated the results achieved in the selection and the affairs of calling upon citizens to enlist as soldiers in localities. However, he also asked the localities to check all work and well prepare for the coming troop transfer ceremony taking place on March 6 2007
