According to the evaluation of the Dong Nai Military Headquarters, positive changes have been made among officers and militiamen over ten years Directive no. 773 to be implemented.
Especially since militia law was put into force, militia’s role and position have increasingly been improved.
Militia have widespread and grown stronger. Dong Nai’s militiamen total 36,354 people, accounting for 1.49 percent compared with the militia in 30 companies, 538 platoons, 1,111 squads and 1,289 teams. Party members in militia hit 18.04 percent, up 9.48 percent compared with 2001.
Over the past ten years, local grassroots units have mobilized 874,432 militiamen to join in and cooperate with patrol police in arresting 387 out of 403 traffic law violators, who were then sent to functional agencies, in giving advice to levels of Party committees and authorities on how to deal with 7,324 disputes, in enhancing propaganda programs and calling for people to implement the “People unite to build cultural life” movement associated with “People protect national security” movement, thereby finding out 10,000 cases of theft and social evils.
Militia have effectively cooperated with military in building roads and bridges, providing health check-ups and medicine for the poor, and building houses of compassion.

The past ten year achievements
show that Dong Nai militia’s people mobilization affairs have been implemented
comprehensively in both breadth and depth and in both content and form, greatly
contributing to seriously completing local authorities’ political tasks and to
calling for people to raise their alert on and to fight with hostile forces for
a political stability, and preservation of national defense and security.
