The representatives for Xuan Loc district police are contributing ideas on how to prevent and fight against social evils

Inter-agency plans on social evil and combat were made with the participation of Dong Nai Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Dong Nai Police, Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Dong Nai Department of Health, Dong Nai Fatherland Front Committee, and Dong Nai Youth Union.

The report shows that in the first half of 2011 functional agencies, Fatherland Front Committee and unions from the province to communes, wards and towns held 2,531 propaganda programs with rich contents among pupils, students, and masses that attracted more than 300,000 participants, released 36,000 leaflets that provide the contents concerning drug prevention and combat, organized 91 music performance programs and movie shows, and issued nearly 150,000 anti-drug propaganda documents.

Besides, Dong Nai Center for Social and Labor Education has helped 177 individuals reintegrate with the community, 60 individuals get vocational training, 16 individuals get loans worth VND74.5 million (or US$3,620.02), and 175 individuals find jobs since early 2011.

The center has re-planned livestock and production areas, and improved its ways to suit current changes, thereby contributing to both increasing productivity, taking care of drug addicts, and helping them recover, alter their behaviors, and restore their personalities before reintegration into the community.

It is known that 826 addicts including 754 addicts transferred to the Center in 2010 and 350 newly-transferred addicts are under its management. 278 addicts have left the Center and integrated with the community.

In terms of drug prevention and combat in the first half of 2011 committees and agencies said that there remained problems and weaknesses in propaganda and management activities concerning detoxification and post-detoxification in communities, wards, and communes.
