A house of compassion is handed over to a poor family |
Through different forms and measures of propaganda masses have gradually understood this movement’s meaning and responded positively to the campaign.
Up to late 2010, Dong Nai had had 882 out of 1007 quarters that were recognized as cultural hamlets and quarters, accounting for 87.69 percent.
Especially, help-the-people movement continues to be disseminated and loans worth VND3 billion (or US$144,477) have been made.
The Standing Committee of levels of Fatherland Front Committee, unions, and member organizations have raised nearly VND12 billion (or US$577,907) in donations towards the building of 474 houses of compassion, and towards the renovations of 12 houses.
On the occasion of great holidays, levels of Fatherland Front Committee and member unions pay many visits to and offer gifts to the families that have made great contributions to the countries, elderly revolutionary officers, and AO victims.
The “All People Unite to Build up a Cultural Life in Residential Areas” campaign
has contributed to:
- Calling for all people to participate in preventing and fighting against crime, drug trafficking, and social evils and to implement successful grassroots mediation.
- Making major changes in the building of a cultural life in residential areas.
- Promoting the tradition of “Gratitude is the sign of noble souls”, and organizing charity activities.
- Uniting to build a strong political base that is closely connected with people.
- Implementing propaganda programs, and calling for people to build a good awareness of and to be responsible for educational, health and environmental activities.
However, in addition to its achievements the movement has still faced some difficulties:
- The campaign has not been updated and some hamlets and quarters haven’t been able to promote their movements.
- In 2010, 78 hamlets and quarters lost their titles. Registration for building cultural hamlets and quarters at the beginning of the year in some localities was not inspected and reviewed regularly.
