Nearly VND2.3 Billion (or US$110,597) Raised to Help Women’s Association Members Do Business

The preliminary report on Dong Nai Women’s Association’s activities indicates that in the first half of 2011, levels of Women’s Associations raised nearly VND2.3 billion (or US$110,597) from their members for the purpose of helping each other do business.

Thanks to the Association’s business loans, a lot of members have been able to increase their income

Also, levels of the Associations have collaborated with Agriculture Encouragement Stations and local Farmers' Associations in offering 21 training classes on how to use fertilizers, and how to take care of plants and domestic animals, which have attracted 1,032 women participants, and in seeking jobs in companies for 336 women.

Levels of the Associations have formed 34 groups of saving women, bringing the total number of saving women groups to 5,122 and the membership to 73,811.

Currently, levels of the Associations across the province are managing twelve funds worth nearly VND440 billion (or US$21.15 million) that have made loans to nearly 60,000 women to do family business.
