Bien Hoa city’s poor household rate fell to 0.3%

On December 22 morning, Bien Hoa City held a conference to sum up the task of poverty reduction in the 2006-2010 period.

 
 
Collectives and individuals receive the certificates of merit conferred by the city People’s Committee.  

According to the report made by the Standing Committee of the city poverty reduction, Bien Hoa city had 1,608 poor households in late 2005, accounting for 1.59%. After 5 years, the city only has had 732 households, occupying 0.3%. Implementing the anti-poverty program, the city had brought into play the strength of all sectors at all levels along with the support from social organizations and the approval from local residents. The city deployed many effective solutions which were suitable for the real situation of each poor households including: developing preferential credit policy for poor households, training laborers and creating jobs for laborers, building compassion houses, and reducing tuition fees for poor students, etc.
