Writing Contest on “Following Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example” in the 1st and 2nd Period: Pervasive Effect

On November 18 morning, the rewarding ceremony for Writing contest on “Following Ho Chi Minh’s Moral Example” in the 1st and 2nd period was held at the Dong Nai Newspaper meeting hall.

Mr. Tran Huy Thanh, editor in chief of Dong Nai Newspaper is rewarding the 3rd prizes to the writers.

    Writer Bui Thu Trang (former student of Nguyen Trai senior high school, Bien Hoa city) won the 1st prize with the writing “Passion leads to success”. The 2nd prize belonged to both writers namely Pham Van Hong (Battalion no.8, Regiment no.31, Division no.309, Army Corps no.4) and Nguyen Quoc Hoan (member of Bien Hoa Veteran Association). Three others including Nguyen Thi Bich Nga ( teacher from Bao Quang junior high school), Long Khanh town), Le Hoai Nhan (teacher from Long Thanh junior high school) and Vu Duc Vinh (retired person from Thong Nhat ward, Bien Hoa city) share the 3rd prize. 12 others are rewarded with consolidation prizes. In addition, 3 three bodies are given team prizes including department of education and training and other 8 enthusiastic units.

    The contest aims to encourage cadres and workers, communist party members, officials, soldiers, youth union members, and associates and people to write about their life and about dominant examples in the movement entitled “Following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example” across Dong Nai province. By the way, propaganda will be reinforced and the specific prominent individuals can be found out and then modeled out in community.

    The contest launched by Dong Nai newspaper and department of education and training, veteran association the provincial group includes 3 phases (from late march, 2008 to late January, 2008). Separately in the 1st and 2nd phase (till September, 2008), the organizing board received 3,600 writings adding to total current 6,000 writings. The contest strongly spread and attracted a wide range of participants such as veterans, retired officials, cadres form party’s organizations and state’s divisions, and fatherland front, teachers, soldiers, students and Red Cross workers and so on. A great number of the writings are about moving stories in daily life such as a veteran once met uncle Ho and followed his teaching, a poor student refuse to receive a donated bike as he think that there are still others poorer; a modest teacher always comprehends shares with everyone; dedicated leader of the hamlet; the disables overcome their plight, etc.

    With deep feeling, Bui Thi Trang, the 1st prize winner said: “For me, the contest is just like a long episodes movie in which each story is real and dynamic component of the movie. I hope the contest could be more intensive. In order to live, learn and follow Ho Chi Minh’s moral example, fist we should be nice in friends’ and beloveds’ eyes.”

    Editor in chief of Dong Nai newspaper Tran Huy Thanh commented: “By means of the competing writings although the writers could not show their entire meaning, the organizing board and readers of Dong Nai newspaper can feel that the mobilization “Learning and following Hoc Chi Minh’s moral example” really comes to the whole population. Also via the contest, people enable to know that there have been a lot of typical individuals who lead a good life and live for others.

    Doctor Pham Anh Ninh-deputy of Department Of Propaganda and Training, head of examiner council in the 1st and 2nd phase said: The contest is very meaningful in the circumstance that the whole Party, Armed Force and People responding to the great mobilization “Learning and following Hoc Chi Minh’s moral example” in accordance with the instruction by politburo and the Circular by Dong Nai Provincial Council. The most significant success of the contest is make prominent individuals following Ho Chi Minh’s moral example across Dong Nai province known to everyone.
