Manulife Vietnam Launches a Charity Walk

On November 27, 2008, Manulife Vietnam launched a walking tour to raise a VND50 million ($ 2,949) fund for extremely poor children on occasion its new branch office opened in Bien Hoa city. More than 200 Manulife agency representatives and Dong Nai-based employees took part in the walk.

    The walk is part of long-termed commitment of Manulife in improving human life quality, especially children in the community where it operates business. Mr. David Wong, Manulife Vietnam General Director said: “For Manulife, we are always trying to be good member in community as its cultural style tradition. In addition to opening a new office to meet its increasingly growing customer demand, we continue our long-termed commitment to the local community, which is partially shown via the walk launch to raise the Fund for extremely poor children’s in Dong Nai”.

    Sine its business ran in 1999, Manulife company has contributed over VND7.5 billion ($442,477) to a wide range of charity programs such as Vietnam Study Promotion Society, Cancer Research Fund, ‘Smile Surgery’ program, Healthcare Program for Women in far flung areas, Book Library for the Blind, Awarding Program entitled “Manulife for children future” and “Let’s help children go to school” and so on.
