Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs’ statistics indicate that Dong Nai has 42,520 needy households including 9,332 households meeting the central government’s requirements and 33,188 others meeting the province’s requirements.
Up to now, 42,355 needy households have received allowances worth VND30,000 (or US$1.45) each per month to cover electricity costs.
Allowances worth over VND5 billion (or US$242,954) were spent in March, 2011 and in the second quarter of 2011 to make sure that 100 percent of beneficiaries gain an access to these allowances.

According to the Prime Minister’s resolution no. 417 on the allowances for officers, civil servants, those who serve in armed forces, those with low state pension, preferred allowance beneficiaries, government policy beneficiaries, and needy households, 42,352 households have got allowances worth VND250,000 (or US$12.14) each per month.
All the costs incurred to run the program hit VND10.5 billion (or US$510,204)
