An encouraging sign is that workers all return to work on time, helping businesses ensure production capacities.

A secure working environment and beneficial welfare policies are the motivation for workers to remain with the business 

Businesses are determined to retain workers

In 2023, businesses in the leather footwear industry also had difficulty with orders but will not let employees' income and life be affected. For example, Phong Thai Group (Trang Bom district) with nearly 65 thousand employees still maintain normal working order for employees and no employees have to quit. In addition, the group's businesses pay salaries according to regulations and pay special attention to ensuring benefits such as child support, holiday bonuses, and periodic health check-ups... With the above policy, up to now, 100% of employees have returned to work and are excited to complete orders in the first quarter of 2024.

Miss Le Thi Hang, a worker at Dona Victor Footwear Co., Ltd, said that in more than 8 years working at the company, she feels very secure when the company always pays her salary in full and on time. Along with that, Phong Thai Group also cares about the lives of workers such as: building dormitories and kindergartens, creating conditions for workers to feel at ease and focus on the job. "The company's care and support motivates workers to stay long-term, contributing to the company's further development" - Miss. Hang confided.

At Scavi Joint Stock Company (Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City) still maintains jobs for 1.6 thousand workers and has high Tet bonuses. Thanks to that, after the Lunar New Year holiday, the business do not lack resources, the proportion of workers returning to work is quite large and diligent on production lines.  

According to Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, General Director of Scavi Group, in order to stabilize the source of orders and jobs for employees, the group as well as Scavi Joint Stock Company have had new approaches to expand customer market share so they are not affected by the lack of orders and maintain a stable workforce. During the past year, the group's pride was that it did not fire any employees, ensuring full employment for employees during difficult times.

Motivate employees to actively produce

According to the actual production and business situation at enterprises shows that, in addition to enterprises that have received new orders, there are still many enterprises that are trying to find new ones to maintain operations. However, employees are still responsible and diligent.

At Tokin Electronics (Vietnam) Company Limited (Long Binh Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City), although there are currently not many orders, thousands of employees are still actively working, determined to overcome difficulties with the business. Previously, during the Tet holiday, this company still gave Tet bonuses like every year and had many support policies for employees to overcome difficulties.

Miss. Tran Thi May, who has been working at the company for 6 years, said that in early 2024, employees still have jobs and income which is a blessing. Returning to work, she and many workers tried to perform the assigned tasks well. Miss. May shared: "Now is the time for me to work hard to earn money and carry out the plans I set out for this year. We hope that the company will have abundant orders so that workers can have stable income and stabilize their lives away from home."

Similarly, at Changshin Vietnam Co., Ltd. - Tan Phu district branch, nearly 3 thousand employees return to work normally, reaching a rate of 100%. The reason why employees decided to stay with the company is not only because of good salary and welfare policies but also the friendly working environment. In addition, legitimate proposals of the grassroots trade union are considered and resolved by the Board of Directors, especially issues related to employment and employee life. Thanks to that, currently 100% of the company's lines are operating at full capacity, the company has organized overtime right from the first day of the year to ensure the progress of orders for partners.

Clearly, welfare policies from businesses are not only a way to retain skilled workers but also to help businesses stabilize production and ensure resources right from the beginning of the year. In fact, businesses that implement policies well have showed that the rate of workers returning to work is quite high, and the situation of job-hopping at the beginning of the year is no longer the same as before. As for businesses that laid off workers in 2023 due to reduced orders, they are currently having difficulty recruiting workers. From there, it shows that a good working environment and proper care will inspire employees to return to the business; strikes and work stoppages have decreased significantly.

According to reports from trade unions at all levels in the province, during the recent Lunar New Year, most businesses with trade unions gave Tet bonuses to employees. Among them, the company with the highest bonus is 834 million VND and the lowest is 4.2 million VND. In addition to the Tet bonus policy according to enterprise bonus regulations, grassroots trade unions have coordinated with employers to take care of employees before Tet holiday; organize buses to take and pick up employees back to work. Thanks to that, the rate of workers returning to work with businesses is quite high, contributing to increasing work efficiency and helping businesses maintain stable production. ​
