The approval of the project to convert the functions of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an urban - commercial - service area and improve the environment

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) - The Provincial People's Committee has decided to approve the project to convert the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an urban - commercial - service area and improve the environment. ​

Accordingly, the project will be divided into 2 dossiers proposing approval of investment policy for Bien Hoa 1 Commercial and Service Urban Area with specific scale of each project including: the political – administration center, with an area of about 44 hectares. Currently, in this area, projects are being implemented for the Provincial Police Headquarters (nearly 6 hectares) and the State Audit Office of Region XIII with an area of 0.5 hectares; Bien Hoa 1 service urban area project has an area of more than 286 hectares, including 2 existing projects proposed to be retained, including the Sonadezi building (area of about 1.2 hectares) and the Quality Assurance and Testing Center 3 (area about 2.2 hectares). Therefore, after reducing the area of the above two areas, Bien Hoa 1 Service Urban Area is still more than 283 hectares.

The goal of the project is to build a new civilized, modern and sustainable urban - service - commercial area, creating a unique aesthetic appearance for the area in particular and Bien Hoa City in general; improve the environment and limit water pollution of the Dong Nai river.

Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park was founded in 1963 with the name Bien Hoa Industrial Park. After 1975, Bien Hoa Industrial Park changed its name to Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park. In May 2020, the Prime Minister issued a decision approving the project to renovate and upgrade the technical infrastructure of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, which stipulates that Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park is organized and operated according to the regulations of industrial parks, export processing zones, and high-tech zones.

At the end of January 2021, the Prime Minister issued a document approving the removal of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park from the development planning of Vietnam's industrial parks. ​
