Dong Nai province strives to become the region’s education, training and vocational education center to attract high quality human resources.

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) On October 18, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung chaired a working session with consulting units and departments to receive reports on Dong Nai river route planning project and the planning for integrating cultural and social development in the provincial period 2021-2030, vision to 2050.

Regarding the development for the cultural and social field, the consulting unit has proposed 9 development plans in the fields of culture, sports, conservation areas, relics areas; tourism infrastructure, key tourism development zones and spots; services, infrastructure, medical and health care system; education - training and network infrastructure of education - training establishments, research - training areas; vocational education; social assistance facilities, social facilities nurturing and nursing people with meritorious services to the revolution; network of press, radio, television, electronic information, and publishing establishments; information technology networks, telecommunications and science and technology fields.

In addition, the consulting unit also presented a plan for the Dong Nai river route to serve urban development, tourism as well as traffic in the province. Based on the reports from the consulting unit, departments localities have had 11 comments to add to the planning for the Dong Nai river route and the development plan for the cultural and social sector.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung asked the consulting unit to keep in mind some unique characteristics of Dong Nai province such as having a large number of Catholics, so there are conditions to develop spiritual tourism; favorable terrain conditions for developing various types of eco-tourism and resort combined with exploiting the night economy. In the fields of health and education, it is necessary to pay attention to the ratio of doctors per 10 thousand people, planning for the construction of nursing homes, branding plans, and improving the quality of universities in the locality.

Concluding the meeting, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc requested the consulting unit to consider and supplement comments from relevant agencies to complete the plans. In particular, in the field of education, Acting Chairman Vo Tan Duc noted that the province wants to become an education, training and vocational education center of the region to attract high-quality human resources. Therefore, with the plan proposed by the unit, by 2030, the province will only have one new university and by 2050, there will be 5 universities in total, which is not commensurate with Dong Nai's potential and advantages. The consulting unit needs to coordinate with relevant units to reconsider and supplement the plan. ​
