Representatives of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Science and Technology and the Provincial Farmers' Association moderated the discussion at the conference

As a result, the province has nearly 257,5 thousand machines and equipment serving agricultural production in the fields of cultivation, livestock, fisheries and forest products. The rate of mechanization in animal feed processing and barn cleaning is almost entirely mechanized; 21% of livestock farms use cold, closed barns; nearly 90% of livestock farms have waste treatment systems that comply with environmental protection guidelines.

However, the province's agricultural mechanization is still limited and there is still no synchronization in production stages. The majority of agricultural production and processing establishments possess low levels of technology and production capacity, many processing steps are done manually, leading to low quality and food safety issues, as well as policy mechanisms are not attractive enough to investors.

Representative of a cooperative in Trang Bom district suggests additional policies to support the application of mechanization in agriculture

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Phi highly appreciated the efforts of departments and local authorities, as well as farmers in deploying and proactively applying mechanization and automation in production. Mechanization in agriculture has promoted the process of linking production and forming service organizations in rural areas, making an important contribution to economic development in rural areas and improving people's income. In the future, departments and localities, businesses, cooperatives and farmers need to actively apply science and technology to agricultural production, transform the structure of crops and livestock, form concentrated production and livestock areas according to commodity scale associated with the application of science and technology and environmental protection. It is also essential to build and replicate mechanization and automation models suitable for agricultural production, as well as increase coordination between scientific agencies and research and transfer units in the province; ordering research and choosing which suitable results to use in actual production and application of machinery, equipment, and management software in the province. Prioritizing investment in science and technology programs and projects related to the production and processing of agricultural products, especially agricultural mechanization, post-harvest preservation technology, in addition to improve food quality and safety. Furthermore, focusing on providing information and propaganda work to raise people's awareness of the necessity and importance of applying mechanization and automation in agricultural production and on the State's support policies and guidelines.
