According to Dong Nai Association of Cooperatives and Non-state enterprises, the province’s collective economic sector has more than 6,340 collaborative groups and cooperatives. In 2005, 11 new cooperatives and 1 collaborative group with the total charter capital of 12,050 billion VND. The operations of cooperatives have been enhanced. Some cooperatives increase their charter capital, expand its services and become good bridges between cooperatives and non-state enterprises. Collaborative groups and cooperatives have made basic changes in both quality and quantity. The number of cooperatives keeps increasing. The operation of weak cooperatives has been improved.
Its duties in 2006 is to keep on implementing the Resolution 14 issued by the Central Party Committee session 5th and provincial policy on promoting private economic sector; to deploy programs to support small and medium enterprises and to organize cooperation activities between cooperatives and non-state enterprises with governmental agencies at all level.
Addressing at the conference, the Vice Chairwoman of provincial People’s Committee Mrs. Dang Thi Kim Nguyen suggested that the association should seek solutions to sustainable developments of ineffective cooperatives across the province. She also instructed that weak cooperatives should be dissolved and the association should define its roles in the development of collective and private economic sector in the province.
