Dong Nai province to establish 25 new cooperatives in 2006

Bau Ham  Agricultural cooperative is one of the leading cooperatives in Dong Nai

By the end of 2005, 143 cooperatives were operational in Dong Nai with a total registered capital of 90 trillion VND and a total staff of 30,000. Agricultural services accounted for the largest numbers of 60 cooperatives followed by transportation with 17 cooperatives, handicraft, trade and construction each with 16 cooperatives, porterage with 8 cooperatives and environmental services with 7 cooperatives. Over 80 per cent out of total cooperatives is considered as effective operating units Dong Nai Union of non-state cooperatives and enterprises. These cooperatives created stable jobs for local people. The average monthly income of an employee reached around VND 700,000.
