Festival of Sport and Culture for Southeastern ethnic groups leaves with deep impression

During the 3-day festival, the House of Culture of the Ta Lai ethnic group has crowded with viewers from inside and outside the province.

 This festival was well prepared and deemed to be a great cultural activity which really drew huge crowds. In fact, guests had to travel very far from the town (about 20 kilometers away from town along highway) and it rained on the final day of the festival, this event has attracted a surprising number of viewers. The festival also boasted shows of traditional costumes of ethnic groups which reflected their own typical cultures. Participating in the cultural festival of the Southeastern area, the viewers enjoyed the unique folk performances that created a deep impression on them. Furthermore, the festival also featured demonstrations of traditional crafts performed by craftsmen from the minority ethnic groups of the Southeastern area such as making brocade fabrics for clothing, weaving bamboo and rattan products and making “to he”, a children’s toy made of rice powder etc. These demonstrations also attracted a lot of visitors eagerly eying unique crafts of the ethnic groups. Besides, the festival offered guests "a taste" of traditional dishes such as com lam or bamboo-tube rice, game meat, etc. It turned out to be the most exciting and eventful festival with a lot of traditional games and music performance with its main sound coming from bronze drums and gongs of the ethnic groups. The sounds and melodies of gongs excited the boys and girls to join in the dances of the ethnic community.

The three-day festival has left an unforgettable impression on the audiences. The event aims to show the solidarity and friendship between ethnic communities of the Southeastern provinces. The organization board captures all of the experiences at this festival to deliver abundant events and cultural content with aplomb in coming years. The festival aims to preserve and develop the traditional cultural heritage values of ethnic groups of Southeastern area.
