Nguyen Thanh Sang, a young entrepreneur and his hope of exporting Tan Trieu Pomelo.

To be born and bred in a peasant family in Tan Trieu hamlet, Tan Binh Commune (Vinh Cuu District), Nguyen Thanh Sang is heavily indebted to his homeland, where has a famous pomelo growing industry. According to him, Tan Trieu pomelo has aromatic flavour because it grows in fertile soil which is built up by the silt of Dong Nai River, a precious source of nutrition from nature. Therefore, Tan Trieu always has high rank in Fruit Contest. And it turns out to be not only a pride of his village but also a famous special fruit of southern and country. However, to be a delicious fruit does not means that it is easily sold out and all his villagers will become rich as one thinks. Like other farm products, in years there has bumper crop of pomelo, villager cannot sell all pomelo. Then, traders flock into here to buy in very low price. Some traders just buy big and good pomelo. They don’t care about the small pomelo. That’s just one thing. Every year, traders buy cheap pomelo from other places then they pose it as Tan Trieu pomelo as to buy to consumer in high price to get big profits. Seeing the output of products of villagers, especially his parents, are frequently impeded by traders. Lives of villagers cannot become better. This touches his heart. That is the reason why he has a hope that when he is grown up he will do something to stabilize the output of pomelo. He thinks that having a good selling pomelo with a suitable price system will attract farmer to invest pomelo again and then Tan Trieu pomelo will have a change to develop

To realize his hope, his first thought is to establish and populist a good trade mark of his homeland product such as sugar-orange leaf pomelo, Thanh Tra pomelo, guava pomelo, red sugar pomelo. However, it takes him several years to fulfill this task. After experiencing of many jobs such as a staff in Maximart supermarket, boss of ready-made cloth shop in 30-4 Street and especially the good business of Truong Son Restaurant opposites Lac Hong Private University, he begins to have enough conditions to realize his hope. The first thing he dose is to build a website to advertise to domestic and foreign consumers about the special pomelo of his village. Then, he establishes Tan Trieu Homeland Enterprise at No 95 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street and registers his trademark to the Viet Nam Intellectual Property Service. He asks Dr Nguyen Van Khai, in Viet Nam Science and Technology Institutions for technical help about Ozone technology in processing Tan Trieu pomelo. To be moved by the fervent, good-hearted, enthusiastic character of a young man from Dong Nai province, Mr Nguyen Van Khai not only enthusiastically instructs technical process to Sang but also come to Bien Hoa City to supervise the installment of azonic water producing machine. His great efforts turn out to be good results. This makes the consumption of his villager’s pomelo easier and help to bring pomelo to big supermarket in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai province such as Maximart, Co-op Mart, Big C… Especially, the showing of Tan Trieu pomelo as “special pomelo from Tan Trieu Home Land” trademark in Dac Lac Festival held recently in Western Highland attracts interests of many people. A oversea Vietnamese, whose business is to trade tropical fruits, has just come back Viet Nam to take part in the Festival. After enjoying the unique taste of Tan Trieu pomelo and visiting Sang’s website, she has good intention to introduce Tan Trieu pomelo in Germany. He is very happy after receiving this news. For him, the hope of exporting pomelo and finding a new way to develop Tan Trieu pomelo village is going to come true. In spite of gaining some optimistic achievements on the way to establish trade mark and find solutions for the output of pomelo, the entrepreneur is still not content with the achievements. He said to us that the consumption of pomelo is good. This means that it’s time for villagers to change the way of growing pomelo as to have high products with good quality and design. He adds it’s a difficult task for Tan Trieu homeland Enterprise to fulfill without the help and care of our government…
