Training workshop on compliance with regulations on origin and transshipment for goods exported to the U.S. market

Recently, the Provincial Economic Development Steering Committee in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the USAID Trade Facilitation Program (TFP)  organized a workshop on compliance with the regulations on origin and transshipment for goods exported to the U.S. market.

Participants of the workshop were Vice Chairperson of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang, Head of the Provincial Economic Development Steering Committee and leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade, representatives of the TFP project; online consultants from the United States and representatives and experts of departments, branches, customs offices, associations, and businesses in the province. The conference is organized in a combination of face-to-face and online formats. In which, at the Dong Nai Province venue has more than 40 businesses participated.

The workshop updates and provides with the overview information on tariff and non-tariff import regulations of the United States; overview of regulations on declaration of origin of goods; overview on determining origin of goods (post-customs clearance inspection), etc. In addition, the workshop also helps orient, and provide the businesses in the province with solutions and recommendations on compliance with the regulations of the U.S. market.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairperson of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang said that the U.S. is currently a market with great growth potential of Vietnam in general and of Dong Nai in particular. Compliance with export regulations to the U.S. market has been a concern for many local exporters. The conference is a good opportunity for businesses and Vietnamese authorities to know and take preventive measures to avoid unnecessary violations, causing great losses to businesses.
