According to the Dong Nai Statistics Department, in the first five months of the year, 4 products imported by businesses in the province to serve production are plastics, chemicals, iron & steel, and pesticides. Enterprises have spent nearly US$2.5 billion to import the above items. In which, chemical imported value was over US$901 million, up 21% over the same period in 2021; the plastic imported worth about US$855 million, up nearly 13%; the value of imported iron and steel of all kinds was nearly US$632 million, up more than 17%; imported pesticides valued more than US$102 million, increasing of nearly 17%.
Among the above imported items, the three main raw materials for industrial production include plastics, chemicals, and iron and steel of all kinds. Pesticide alone is to serve agricultural and forestry production. These are also the groups of goods that Dong Nai has had a large trade deficit for many years. The main import markets of these products are South Korea, China, the United States, Japan, and Taiwan.
