Dong Nai enterprises import more iron and steel to produce machinery and equipment for export

According to the Department of Industry and Trade, in the 11 months of 2022, Dong Nai enterprises spent USD 6.3 billion to import four items are plastics, chemicals, iron and steel, machinery and equipment spare parts. Leading the province's four major imports are plastics with more than USD 1.7 billion; followed by more than USD 1.6 billion in chemicals, more than USD 1.5 billion in spare machinery and equipment, and steel nearly USD 1.5 billion. Dong Nai enterprises have to import many are the main raw materials for industrial production of the province. The main import markets of these items are China, Korea, Japan, the United States, India.

 Particularly, the above items accounted for about 36% of the total import turnover of goods of Dong Nai. Although enterprises have increased their sourcing of raw materials in the country, the Vietnamese market has not met enough, so it is necessary to import from many countries to ensure production.​
