Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Receives Cambodian Consulate General Delegation in Dong Nai.

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the morning of May 24, member of the Party Central Committee and Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Hong Linh received a working delegation from the Cambodian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, headed by Consul General Chan Sorykan. Accompanying the delegation were Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang and leaders of several provincial departments and sectors. ​

At the reception, the Provincial Party Secretary briefed the delegation on Dong Nai's economic and social development and the province's cooperation results with Cambodian localities. Dong Nai has always been keen on fostering traditional relations with Cambodia, particularly with the provinces of Kampong Thom and Kampong Cham, enhancing activities such as charity medical missions, cultural exchanges, sports, trade, and military cooperation. ​

Regarding investment, currently, three enterprises from Dong Nai are implementing five investment projects in Cambodian localities (Thibidi Purchasing Business Joint Stock Company, Dong Nai Rubber Corporation, and Bien Hoa Sugar Company).

In terms of diplomatic relations, since 2015, Dong Nai has established the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, which now has over 6,000 active members participating in people's diplomacy activities, contributing to strengthening and developing the friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia, and between Dong Nai and Cambodian localities and partners specifically. Annually, the province grants 10 full scholarships to students from Kampong Thom to study at universities and colleges in the province.

​The Provincial Party Secretary hopes that Consul General Chan Sorykan will continue to be a bridge in connecting and further promoting the friendly cooperation between Dong Nai province and Cambodian localities and partners in the future.

Cambodian Consul General Chan Sorykan expressed gratitude for the sentiments and support that Dong Nai has extended to Cambodian localities, specifically the scholarship support and organizing traditional Tet gatherings for Cambodian students studying in the province. Additionally, Dong Nai's government frequently organizes delegations to extend Tet greetings to Cambodian provinces with friendly cooperative relations with Dong Nai.

​Consul General Chan Sorykan also mentioned that Cambodia is currently implementing a special economic zone project and will be ready to assist in connecting Vietnamese enterprises to invest in this project, particularly in the field of building material supply. ​
