Kobe City Collaborates with Dong Nai Province to Implement Green-Smart Industrial Park Model

​(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the afternoon of June 11, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Thi Hoang, met with representatives from Sojitz Corporation, Japan. ​

Overview of the Meeting 

At the meeting, Mr. Ishii Hiroyuki, General Director of Long Duc Industrial Park, announced that the Intercity Cooperation Project between Kobe City and Dong Nai Province had been approved by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment. He also presented an overview of the project. The project's goal is to establish a sustainable carbon-neutral society through intercity cooperation. Sojitz Corporation and Kobe City, Japan, will collaborate with Dong Nai Province in researching and implementing a green-smart industrial park model within the project's framework, funded by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment. The project will span three years, from 2024 to 2026.

The research and implementation idea of the green-smart industrial park proposed by Sojitz Corporation could provide practical benefits for industrial park enterprises in achieving "eco-labels" or meeting the criteria for "eco-enterprise" certification. This creates opportunities to enter markets with strict requirements for environmentally friendly products. Industrial parks infrastructure investors can enhance their brand value and build a reputation in the international market through these results.

Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoang stated that this idea aligns with Dong Nai Province's industrial development orientation, contributing to national targets and international commitments on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and combating climate change.

In concluding remarks, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hoang agreed with the project research timeline from 2024 to 2026 and the three themes proposed by Sojitz Corporation: promoting renewable energy and energy savings, improving wastewater treatment efficiency, and enhancing waste treatment efficiency. She also thanked Sojitz Corporation for facilitating the cooperation between Kobe City and Dong Nai Province and expressed hope that Sojitz Corporation would continue to work with Dong Nai Province to effectively implement the green-smart industrial park project as planned. ​
