Finnish Enterprises Seek Investment Opportunities in Dong Nai

(News Portal – Dong Nai) - Currently, Dong Nai hosts two Finnish projects, with a total investment capital of over 3.3 million USD. Finnish enterprises in Dong Nai are engaged in blending and packaging chemical products used in the paper manufacturing industry, industrial and urban wastewater treatment, among others.

​Recently, Dong Nai has continuously welcomed delegations of Finnish enterprises to explore the investment environment and policies. Finnish enterprises involved in industrial production, high-tech forestry; high-tech applications in industrial zones, residential areas, and intelligent transportation infrastructure are keen to seek investment opportunities in Dong Nai. Among these are world-leading companies in sustainable timber exploitation and environmental protection; offering high-tech application solutions in industrial zones, residential areas, and transportation infrastructure, and other areas.

Mr. Amalan Kanagaratnam, Sales Director for the Asia-Pacific region of Helvar Lighting (Helvar), remarked that Dong Nai is experiencing rapid urbanization. Therefore, Helvar hopes to contribute to smart urban solutions. These include smart buildings, smart transportation, smart tourism, and the digitalization of smart urban systems for residential areas, industrial zones, and buildings within the province. This development strategy is what Helvar is aiming for. Mr. Amalan Kanagaratnam is hopeful that Helvar will have the opportunity to cooperate and develop in Dong Nai in the near future.

Mr. Tran Toan Thang, Sales Director for the enterprise and government segment of Nokia in Vietnam, stated that Nokia specializes in providing network infrastructure equipment for mobile carriers in Vietnam such as Viettel, VNPT, Mobifone. Nokia wishes to participate with Vietnamese provinces and cities in digital transformation, data system construction, and is currently involved in several projects at Long Thanh International Airport. Nokia is also developing projects for schools and industrial zones, hoping to connect with Dong Nai authorities to develop projects in the future.  

Finland has strengths in smart lighting solutions; smart building construction; transportation systems, network infrastructure, information and data provision systems that enhance efficiency and aim for digitalization in various fields; recycling, water reuse solutions, energy-saving, and environmental protection; especially in education and training of high-quality human resources...​

Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam, Keijo Norvanto, mentioned that Finnish enterprises wish to connect with the province to explore and develop projects. These include sustainable forest exploitation, cultivation, and development technologies to create environmentally-friendly furniture products, and develop renewable energy projects...

According to Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoang, Dong Nai is driving the implementation of sustainable development solutions, particularly the Net Zero Project to fulfill the Government's commitment to the COP26 Convention. Currently, Dong Nai's industrial zones are transitioning towards eco-industrial zones. Therefore, the solutions proposed by businesses can meet the needs of infrastructure companies in industrial zones transitioning to eco-industrial zones. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoang appreciates the potential of Finnish enterprises. The technological solutions proposed by Finnish companies have advantages and align with sustainable development criteria.

The leadership of Dong Nai province is always seeking to enhance economic development and cultural exchange between Dong Nai and the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam, as well as Finnish investors. Dong Nai is actively promoting investment activities and inviting businesses to invest in the province, with the principle of the government always accompanying enterprises. At the same time, it encourages and creates favorable conditions for foreign enterprises to come to Dong Nai for investment. Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Thi Hoang, expects that the Finnish Ambassador will serve as a bridge, introducing Finnish businesses to explore, trade, and invest, as well as engage in charitable activities in the province, in order to work together with the provincial government in the socio-economic development of Dong Nai province. ​
