(News Portal – Dong Nai) - The June 2024 Job Fair held at the Dong Nai Job Placement Center (Tan Hiep Ward, Bien Hoa City) recently attracted 25 enterprises looking to hire over 3,500 workers. According to the enterprises, despite an improvement in orders compared to 2023, recruitment has remained challenging since the beginning of the year. Many companies have had to send personnel to the western provinces and the Central Highlands to recruit workers. The labor shortage is attributed to workers quitting to withdraw their social insurance in a lump sum, job-hopping, or returning to their hometowns, leading to a reduction in the workforce. Recruitment efforts have not sufficed to compensate for the number of workers who have left. Companies are implementing various strategies to attract labor and enhancing benefits to retain workers, especially in the footwear and garment sectors.

The Dong Nai Job Placement Center reported that although the demand for unskilled labor makes up more than 92% of the total, the turnout for applications and interviews is very limited, meeting only 6.4% of the demand. The center has employed measures to connect job seekers with companies needing to hire, ensuring the labor supply meets demand. However, the number of participants at recent job fairs has fallen short of fulfilling the recruitment needs of the enterprises. The industries with high labor demand include garments, footwear, labor export, life insurance, financial services, telecommunications, and security, among others.
