Mr. Lam Thanh Duc, Director of Thanh Duc Company said that the chicken farm of the enterprise has an area of more than 8 hectares, the first stage is putting into operation 4 hens for laying hens, capacity of 46,000 birds/cages and 2 cages the same capacity. Presently, the total number of laying hens has reached 180,000, producing about 170,000 eggs per day.
In addition, Thanh Duc Company also uses the system of cages imported from Spain and the chicken collection, sorting and packing lines imported from Japan and Korea.
In order to have a clean source of eggs, the process of raising chickens for eggs here is automatic operation from the temperature treatment, chicken diet, egg collection to hygienic and closed waste treatment. . As a result, Thanh Duc Company has reduced labor costs. According to Mr. Duc, the enterprise is implementing the second stage, expanding the production scale, building 6 more barns and 2 cages, raising the total number of 600,000 hens, more than 3 times compared to the present.
Although meeting the standards, however, clean chicken products of Thanh Duc Company have not been able to export due to the obstacles from DFZ’s provisions.
Especially, with the aim to export clean chicken eggs, Thanh Duc Company will apply the technology of breeding in Japan. “Even water for chicken to drink, we also have to use pure water for human consumption to improve the quality of products”, said Mr. Duc.
At present, Thanh Duc Company has over 40 distribution points of clean chicken eggs in the province and neighboring provinces such as Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh. In addition, some Japanese partners are also purchasing eggs for processing and processing for export.
Talking about the opportunity to export chicken eggs, Mr. Lam Thanh Duc said, about 4 years, many partners from Korea have also questioned the purchase of eggs for export to the country. According to Mr. Duc, Korean enterprises have visited the company. Every step from quality, output and price are mutually agreed. However, up to now, enterprises have not been exported due to the last stage of construction of ATDB. “After agreeing to all conditions, they rechecked and found the farm is not in the ATDB area, so the contract is not signed,” Mr.Duc said.
Prerequisites for export of livestock products
Terrestrial animal DFZ area is a district or districts; a province or provinces is defined not to have an DFZ registered case for a specified period of time for each disease, animal species or veterinary activity in that area ensuring control of the disease.
According to the Department of Animal Health, the construction of DFZ is mandatory for businesses to export products from livestock. Because most countries in the world currently only allow the import of livestock products when they are raised and processed in the DFZ.
Urgently completing the DFZ to export eggs
Before the last "barrier" made Dong Nai chicken eggs can not export to Korea, Director of Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Department, Mr. Tran Van Quang said that the unit is urgently completing procedures to build the DFZ for influenza and newscastle around the farm of Thanh Duc Company. “Currently, the plan to build the DFZ for chicken eggs export of Thanh Duc Company has been submitted to the provincial People's Committee for approval”, Mr. Quang said.
According to the head of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Branch, in order to build an DFZ for Thanh Duc Export Company, five communes of Xuan Loc district will be built into DFZ communes. "For the construction of DFZ, the implementation period will last about 5-6 months”, Mr. Quang said.
Especially, according to Mr. Quang, in addition to five communes of Xuan Loc District in this plan, some localities of Long Khanh Town, Vinh Cuu District, Dinh Quan will also be building the DFZ to expand the ATDB buffer zone for this enterprise.

Dong Nai is the only province that has two Disease-free zones
According to Mr. Tran Van Quang, Head of the Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Department, Dong Nai is the only province in the country that successfully built two DFZs in Trang Bom district and Thong Nhat district. Accordingly, 27 communes of these two localities have completed the control of bird flu and newcastle on household and farm scale.
