Through Medcomm software, users can find medical examination and treatment establishments; pharmacies and other medical establishments in the whole province and neighboring areas that are using this software. Medcomm displays publicly, explicitly licenses, operational functions, images of each facility as well as provides directions and phone contacts. It can even display the comments of the service users about the said medical establishments.
For the Department of Health, the Medcomm app helps in quickly summarizing the data of medical and pharmaceutical establishments, promptly respond to and inform these medical establishments online, as to information as: the term of the certificates regarding medicines, operating licenses, procedures,... So that these establishments to know and supplement in a timely manner the necessary documents and help minimize errors in practice.
For medical and pharmaceutical establishments, through software, people will find and use the simplest service, easily exchange information of the said establishment with the community.
Accordingly, the basic information of medical and pharmaceutical institutions in Medcomm system is now provided by Departments of Health. In Dong Nai, the system has updated information such as: name of the establishment, license number, name of specialist manager, operating address of the establishment, scope of operation ...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao, owner of Thao An pharmacy (Quarter 5, Long Binh ward, Bien Hoa city) said that after being trained at the Department of Health, she, like many pharmacy and clinic owners of Bien Hoa City, has installed Medcomm software. Through the software, her pharmacy is better known to people. Not only that, from now on, whenever any kind of certificate of the pharmacy is due, the Department of Health will remind her via the system so that Ms. Thao can timely renew such certificate, no longer have to worry about being fined 5-10 million VND as before when she forgot to renew.
Effective Use
To be able to use this community health management software, people only need to perform a very simple installation operation.
For computers that use the web version, access the address: http://www.medcomm.vn/#!/. For smartphones, for iPhone users with IOS operating system, they can just install it via the App Store. For Android users, they can install Medcomm software via Google Play.
After completing the installation steps, the Medcomm application will be displayed on your computer or phone. At this point, the screen shall shows a map with the domain name of the public health network. The word "Y" is converted into a stethoscope icon. On the map will display a number of symbols: the blue icon with the stethoscope is the medical examination establishment; red house shape is a pharmacy; yellow is the place where the aforementioned two types are operating near each other, just zoom in and the app shall let you know whether it is a medical examination establishment or a pharmacy; The flashing blue dot is the current location of the user.
If you want to find out information about any establishment, just tap on the corresponding icon and the information related to that establishment shall immediately be displayed. On the display page of said establishment there are 3 buttons: call, directions and website of said establishment.
In addition to the quick search function, the application also has a detailed search function at the bottom left of the screen including type, locality, commune, ward. For example, if people want to find a medical facility in Binh Da ward (Bien Hoa city), just select appropriate information, the application will provide them a range of results that meet the requirements so that they can choose. Or in the case of emergencies or at midnight, people just need to type their home address in the search detail section and press search, the application shall display the medical examination and treatment establishments, pharmacies closest to their address.
Once they have registered an account with the system, people can log in to exchange information and provide feedback to the establishment. By early December 2018, the province had more than 4.2 thousand pharmacies and nearly 1.7 thousand medical establishments participating in, and updating their data to Medcomm system.
From July 2016 to now, the Department of Health has cooperated with Viettel Dong Nai and David Health Vietnam Joint Stock Company to continuously test the applications of information technology including: network connection, pharmacies, personal health records establishment and management system; Medcomm community health network. As a result, there are over 3 million personal health records created, 306 pharmacies have participated in training how to use and using pharmacy connection software.
