Some projects are required to shorten construction time to complete earlier than planned.

“Racing” from the beginning of the year

In 2021, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, construction works of public investment projects in the province faced many difficulties in construction, leading to delays in progress. Therefore, right from the first days of the new year 2022, most contractors have mobilized maximum resources to speed up construction and make up for progress.

Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway construction project is one of two national key projects being implemented in the province. This is also one of the few projects to maintain construction through the 2022 Lunar New Year to ensure the progress required by the Government. Immediately after the Tet Holiday, the construction contractors continued to increase the workforce of workers and machines to speed up the progress of the project's components.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Director of the Executive Board of the Package 3, Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway Project said that in order to ensure the progress of the work, during the 2022 Lunar New Year, the contractor still maintains the workforce for the construction on site. On February 5 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), most of the workers who returned to their hometown to celebrate Tet also returned to the site to continue construction.

Meanwhile, from February 10, all construction contractors of the projects of Loc An - Binh Son Resettlement Area under the project of land acquisition, compensation and support, resettlement Long Thanh International Airport have also "restarted" the construction work. According to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, in the coming time, the unit has also asked the contractors to quickly increase more human resources and machinery to serve the construction work.

In 2021, the investment project to build the Country Road No. 2 (section 1, phase 1) is one of the most difficult projects due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic and lack of construction space. Therefore, the progress of the project is also severely affected. To compensate for the progress and ensure the project completion time, right from February 8, the construction contractor started construction again on the project site.

Mr. Hoang Van Nga, technical officer in charge of project construction under Cuong Hung Co., Ltd. said: “Currently, we are focusing on construction of leveling items at the beginning of the route about 900m long. This is the cleared ground that has been handed over, so the contractor focuses a large amount of human resources and machinery to serve the construction "- Mr. Hoang Van Nga said.

Maintaining stable construction before the Lunar New Year, the contractor at the Vam Cai Sut Bridge Construction Project has many advantages when most of the machinery and equipment have been gathered at the construction site. Therefore, right from February 9, the construction of the project's components was officially "restarted".

At the Dong Nai Riverside Road Construction Project (section from Hoa An Bridge to the border with Vinh Cuu District), from February 8, the contractor also mobilized workers, construction machinery and equipment to work again after the Tet Holiday. Mr. Nguyen Ton Trong, Director of Bien Hoa City Project Management Board, said that from February 10, the construction contractor had mobilized 100% of the workforce, machinery and equipment for the construction of the project.

Efforts to "finish" early

As planned, in 2022, a series of key projects deployed in the province will be completed. To ensure the plan, in addition to rushing to resume construction immediately after the Lunar New Year holiday, the contractors are also developing a plan to speed up the progress.

The end of 2022 is the time when the construction project of Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway will be basically completed. However, during the inspection of component projects of the East North-South Expressway Project in the period 2017-2020, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that relevant units and localities need to coordinate well and try to improve construction quality, speeding up Dau Giay - Phan Thiet Expressway Project by the Quarter 1 of 2022.

To achieve this goal, the construction contractors are also planning to speed up the progress, especially mobilizing more machines, equipment, and overtime to serve the construction when the material mines are in service. The project will be licensed for exploitation in the near future. "We have planned to mobilize more rollers to work overtime when the leveling mines are licensed to operate for the project," said Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hai.

Meanwhile, at the Country Road No.2 Construction Project, the contractor also planned to increase by half the human resources and construction vehicles to speed up the construction progress. According to the plan, the project will complete construction by the end of 2022, so the unit must speed up the progress to ensure the completion time, Mr. Hoang Van Nga said. In the coming time, when the project site is handed over, more contractors will increase workers and machines to meet construction needs.

Similarly, the Vam Cai Sut Bridge Construction Project will also be completed by the end of 2022. Therefore, the contractor has also planned to increase construction resources for the project. According to the plan, in about 1 week, when the workers return to localities to celebrate the Tet Holiday to complete the isolation to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, the project will ensure 100% of human resources for the working progress.

For the construction project of Loc An - Binh Son Resettlement Area, it is expected that in May 2022, all construction components will be completed. In order to ensure the scheduled progress, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board has also asked the contractors to have a plan to increase human and material resources, build the progress schedule criteria during the construction.
