Long Khanh City Determined to Become a Class II Urban Area by 2025

(News Portal – Dong Nai) - On the afternoon of May 31, the People's Committee of Long Khanh City solemnly held a meeting to celebrate the 5th anniversary of its establishment (June 1, 2019 - June 1, 2024).

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh presented flowers on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province to congratulate the Party Committee, authorities, and people of Long Khanh City. 

Attending and celebrating the event were comrades: Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Linh; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Thanh Son; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee: Cao Van Quang, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Dao Van Phuoc, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department; Cao Tien Dung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; Huynh Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission, along with Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Thi Bich Hang and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Hoang.

Since its establishment, the cityscape of Long Khanh has undergone significant changes, with continuous economic growth and proper economic restructuring. The total social development investment capital has increased by an average of 28% per year, with annual budget revenue exceeding the province's estimates. The average income per capita has reached 145 million VND (an increase of 35.55 million VND compared to 2018, before its establishment).

Long Khanh City has also experienced a surge in infrastructure investment, social housing development, paying tribute to those who served the country, social welfare, education, healthcare, and the development of new rural areas towards advanced and model standards, aiming to become a Class II urban area by 2025.

Regarding future development directions, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Long Khanh City People's Committee Do Chanh Quang stated that the city will continue to enhance the role and responsibility of the Party committees and authorities, promote the role of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, and create consensus in implementing the green, clean, and beautiful urban renovation. The city will accelerate the implementation of investment projects for urban infrastructure construction, upgrading, and renovation, associated with urban order management, ensuring security, order, and traffic safety.

The city will focus on promoting economic development towards industrialized agriculture and rural areas, building local specialty product brands, especially improving product quality. It aims to attract investment in commercial-service center projects, agricultural eco-tourism, cultural-historical tourism, and to build Long Khanh City into a green, civilized, safe, and modern city. ​
