Opportunities for local products

 

Dong Nai is one of the tops in the country in terms of agricultural production, especially vegetable products, fruit trees and livestock products. Currently, the province is promoting the development of the One Product per Commune (OCOP) program. Therefore, many production enterprises of Dong Nai with OCOP products are working to expand the consumption market, including the internal market and neighboring localities such as Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Mrs Pham Thi Bich Ha, representative of Son Lam Food Trading and Production Co., Ltd said that the main products of enterprise are roasted coffee, soluble coffee, in which Halo68 coffee products has now achieved OCOP certification of the province. Previously, every year, enterprise exported about 1,000 tons of products through the China and America markets. Currently, due to the impact of the epidemic on the export market, business is considering to consume more products in the domestic market. To do this, business wants to have access to domestic distribution channels, especially supermarkets, shopping centers and convenience stores. Thereby, business can expand market share, improve competitiveness. "Ho Chi Minh City is the largest market in the country, so business focuses on linking and expanding distribution in this market" – Mrs Pham Thi Bich Ha said.

 

Similarly, enterprises in the field of furniture production of Dong Nai are also strongly aiming at the domestic market after a long time focusing on exporting. According to the assessment, the domestic furniture market is now more than 4 billion USD in commercial value and the demand is increasing due to the rising living standards of urban residents, especially young people.

 

Affirming the name

Similarly, small and medium-sized enterprises have become “familiar" in Dong Nai such as Nam Long, Trong Duc, An Phu Thinh, Tuong Lai ... also step by step from domestic production before reaching out to export. Building a brand in the domestic market to reach out to the world is a common solution of many businesses in the context of the market affected by the current pandemic.
