Dong Nai signed cooperation agreement with METI-Kansai to strongly develop industry

Mr. Cao Tien Dung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of departments attended the signing ceremony from Dong Nai province: Planning - Investment, Industry and Trade, Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs, Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, Dong Nai College Of High Technology, Lac Hong University; leaders of Dong Nai Industrial Zones Authority, representatives of Ban Kansai, Dong Nai Young Entrepreneurs Association….

The ceremony was chaired by Mr. Takeshi Yonemura, Director of METI-Kansai in Tokyo, Japan; representative of the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnership (AOTS); Pacific Resource Exchange Center (PREX).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Cao Tien Dung - Chairman of Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the cooperation between Dong Nai and METI-Kansai. “In recent years, the two parties have actively implemented the signed contents and achieved good results to help improve the quality of the investment environment in Dong Nai province. It also contributes to promoting economic development between Dong Nai province and Kansai region. By the end of 2020, the conference to link trade between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises hosted by the two parties achieved results that exceeded the set goal, assisting in opening opportunities for companies to find out, chose appropriate partners, and move toward long-term cooperation for growth in the future” Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – Mr.Cao Tien Dung shared.

According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the results achieved in the past are not commensurate with the potentials and advantages of both parties and this cooperation must be strengthened further. Therefore, in the coming time, it would be important to actively enforce activities on which the two sides have been cooperating. Maintain and improve the operation organization of Ban Kansai and the Coordinator Group, organize annual trade meetings, replicate the results of the human resource program to supply to Japanese businesses and establish all beneficial conditions for Japanese companies invested in, or are planning to invest in Dong Nai.

This time, Dong Nai and METI-Kansai signed a framework agreement on cooperation including three components: Cooperation for development of supporting industries, Cooperation in the training and provision of labor for the industry, Economic cooperation in the field of environment - energy saving.

Currently, 45 countries and territories are investing in Dong Nai with a total of 1534 projects, total investment capital approximately 31.8 billion USD. Japan has 262 projects, total investment capital of 4.89 billion USD, ranking 3rd in terms of foreign investment in Dong Nai.
