Medical officers in the quarantines are among those prioritized for the first phase of Covid-19 vaccine.

Who are the first persons of injections?

According to the leader of the Provincial Center for Diseases Control, the people receiving the free vaccines for this batch included:

At communes: Members of the Steering Committee for Diseases Prevention, force directly involved in investigation of infected cases and suspected cases, and those involved in the management of isolators at home (including commune medical personnel, regional police, commune police, hamlet officials, medical collaborators).

In districts included: Police forces, army forces serving in isolated areas who participating in investigation, coordinating investigate isolated people at the facilities, medical forces directly involved in epidemic prevention (including testers, treatment staff in infectious departments of medical centers and hospitals).

At the provincial level, it includes all officers working in quarantine areas, all medical officers at Dong Nai Lung Hospital. Staffs, laboratory staffs, and officers in charge of treating and caring for patients in the Infectious Department will be included in General Hospitals.

In addition, there are also members of the Provincial Steering Committee for Diseases Control and Prevention Covid-19 tasked with inspecting and monitoring the facility; the police force managing the social order, the police working in the immigration office; port authorities and customs officers; reporters directly involved in epidemic prevention.

According to the Government's Resolution 21, the whole province has over 500 thousand citizens divided into 9 priority groups to receive free first COVID-19 vaccination. However, in this first phase, the province only has 16.8 thousand doses of vaccine preference were given to injecting those at high to low risk.

These facilities will organize vaccinations

Dong Nai province only implemented vaccination at vaccination sites of public health system in the first phase due to a limited supply of vaccines. Include health stations at 170 communes, wards, and towns that have been granted vaccine eligibility certificates; district hospitals, medical centers; and provincial general hospitals.

Every commune, ward, and town may receive a few hundred doses of vaccine and start for injection within 2-3 days. District health centers and hospitals will give injections to officials and employees of district departments and agencies. Provincial diseases control center and Bien Hoa health center will give injections to officials and employees of provincial departments and agencies and Dong Nai lung hospital.

The people receiving these injections are mostly government officials and employees assigned to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic, government departments are at high risk because of usually communication with foreigners and entry persons…. Thus, the authorities were spreading propaganda to ensure that those who will have been immunized against this batch understand and follow the rules.

The Covid-19 vaccine program will last at least from 2021 to 2022. It is expected to inject a variety of Covid-19 vaccines, not just the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The Department of Health has just organized a general training course on Covid-19 vaccination deployment for leaders who are directly involved in the vaccination process at immunization facilities, pharmacy personnel related to vaccine preservation, and staffs, physicians at hospital emergency departments related to anaphylaxis management. The training content includes: Vaccination organization operations, screening skills, anaphylaxis management and vaccine preservation, transportation, statistics, and reports. Following training at the provincial level, officials and employees at the district level will continue to deploy training to each member at the lower level, ensuring vaccinations at the highest level. If the Ministry of Health introduces new vaccinations or changes, the Department of Health will have to arrange additional training courses for medical staffs.

The most important requirement of vaccination, even for any vaccines, is that they are safe. As a result, the Ministry of Health's rules must be strictly enforced at all points of the vaccination process. The Covid-19 vaccine is a new vaccine. However, in order to be used, the vaccine had to pass all regulatory censorship procedures. While vaccine manufacturers are permitted to shorten the time relative to other vaccines, the testing procedures are not changed. The AstraZeneca vaccine which was adopted in Vietnam, is a vaccine recommended by the World Health Organization. Vietnam is not the first nation to adopt this vaccine.

When importing AstraZeneca vaccine into Vietnam, the Ministry of Health also performed the necessary inspection measures in compliance with the law. As a result, this vaccine meets the same criteria as other vaccines. Previously, some countries briefly suspended AstraZeneca vaccination but most have continued to use this vaccine.

According to Dr. Bach Thai Binh, anything that is added into the human body, not just medicines or vaccinations, has an incompatibility rate. When vaccinated, the undesirable effects are still present, but at a low level, negligible in comparison to the number of people who use the vaccine. Until now, the AstraZeneca vaccine has an extremely high safety level. More than 55,000 people in 19 provinces and cities in Vietnam were vaccinated during the first phase of vaccination (from March 8 to April 8). According to the findings of the study, there were approximately 1 ‰ case of hypersensitivity reactions after injection that were adequately treated, their health was stable, and they returned to work after 1-2 days of follow-up care at a medical facility. Vietnam has had no cases of blood clots or thrombosis after vaccination until now.

The province organizes vaccination for those who have not been vaccinated for the first phase of vaccination from May 6 to May 8.
