WP – The Provincial People's Committee has just submitted a report to the Economic Committee of the 14th National Assembly on the implementation of land acquisition, compensation and resettlement support for Long Thanh International Airport (Long Thanh airport).

According to the report, on the construction area of the airport (5,000 ha), for the current organized land, the Provincial People's Committee has completed the land acquisition and approved compensation and support plans for 13/18 organizations. The recovered area is over 1,829 hectares/ 5,000 hectares with compensation and support of over 927 billion Dong. For the remaining 5 organizations, the Provincial People's Committee directs the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to complete the land acquisition, compensation and support in May 2020.
Regarding the land area of households and individuals in the area prioritized for site clearance (1,810 hectares), the land area of 1,028 households and individuals has been determined with a total area of 630 hectares, the remaining is the land of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation (the plants have been recovered and compensated). The Provincial People's Committee also completed the tally of 1,028 households and individuals, reaching 100%. The province has also issued land prices and approved compensation, support and resettlement plans to pay for households to be completed in the second quarter of 2020.
In the priority area for site clearance, about 700 households and individuals must relocate and arrange resettlement, including 450 main households and 250 auxiliary households. Currently, the provincial People's Committee has selected Zone 9, Division III and Zone 7, Division II of Loc An - Binh Son Resettlement Area to arrange relocation for these households. The province is building infrastructure of these 2 resettlement areas to hand over to households in August 2020.
For the remaining area of 3,190 hectares, there are 4,378 households and individuals with a total area of 2,436 ha, the remaining is land of organizations, of which the land of Dong Nai Rubber Corporation is 507 ha). Up to now, the province has completed the tally of 654 households and individuals with an area of more than 480 ha. For the remaining area, the province will continue to direct the tally, determine the origin of land and complete the resettlement compensation work this year and hand over the whole ground in the second quarter of 2021.
In the report, the provincial People's Committee also mentioned a number of difficulties, such as: different measurement and tally in the field due to the change of the land parcel in the dossier for issuance of certificate and the current situation; impossibility of being determining land boundaries in some cases; some land parcels without any owners' information or a name with unclear address, etc.
