Cooperation between Dong Nai Province and localities of Laos increasingly deepened

At the anniversary, the representative of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Dong Nai Province reviewed the solidarity and attachment between Vietnam and Laos in general; and Dong Nai and Champasak Provinces in particular. On the basis of the special traditional friendship between the two parties and the two states, the cooperation between Dong Nai Province and the localities of Laos, especially Champasak Province, has been increasingly deepened in all fields of politics, economics, education, culture, and human resources exchange. Over the past time, Dong Nai Province has organized nearly 20 delegations to visit and work with the localities in Laos; and signed many cooperation agreements with Champasak Province on trade promotion and development cooperation in the fields of industry, agriculture, service, tourism, science and technology, infrastructure, health care, and human resources training and development.

Regarding economy, numerous Dong Nai businesses have come to learn and invest in Laos, for example, some big projects can be named such as Coffee Planting Project of Tin Nghia Corporation with investment capital of about 7.7 million USD; Long Thanh Golf Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company in the field of mineral exploration, exploitation and processing, and Project of Golf courses and hotels with capital of 300 million USD;  Dong Nai Rubber Corporation's Project in Oudomxay Province with a total capital of about 6.7 million USD, and so forth.

For human resources education and training, since 2011, Dong Nai Province has granted 183 scholarships with a total funding amount of over 30 billion VND for Champasak Province, of which, 139 students have graduated and returned home to work, the remaining 44 students are currently studying at 3 universities and colleges in Dong Nai. In addition, Bien Hoa City has supported Pakse District, Champasak Province to provide a training program for 6 masters and 19 bachelors.  

Since its establishment, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Dong Nai Province has developed with over 1,500 members, 32 branches and associations, and has become a bridge to promote the traditional friendship relationship between Dong Nai Province and the localities of Laos.

 Speaking at the anniversary, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Bao said, the province will continue to pay attention and give timely direction to activities of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Dong Nai Province, at the same time, direct provincial departments, agencies, and local authorities at all levels to coordinate, support and create conditions for the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Dong Nai Province to well perform assigned tasks.  

Also at the anniversary, Ms. Phetsalin Douangssonthy thanked the Party Committee, authorities and people of Dong Nai Province for their attention and support to Laos in general and Champasak Province in particular, especially Dong Nai Province for its human resource training through the annual college, university and postgraduate scholarships.

On this occasion, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in Dong Nai Province awarded 10 gifts from the Association's funds to 10 Lao students studying at Dong Nai University.
