Regarding the site clearance work of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project phase 1, according to assessments, it is currently much slower than the progress made for the section in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
According to the Provincial Compensation, Site Clearance and Resettlement Support Project Management Board, it is expected that by the end of September, the counting of agricultural land areas in the project area as well as completion of land appraisal certification will be completed.
Meanwhile, regarding the need for backfilling, according to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project phase 1, the need for backfill soil is about 5 million m3. However, currently, in the province, only soil from Tan Cang 7 mine can be supplied to the project, but the volume is not enough to meet the demand. Therefore, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment proposed that the Provincial People's Committee consider continuing to allow the use of backfill soil in 3 agricultural land improvement projects in Cam My district area that have been licensed to serve the construction of Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway to provide for the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project phase 1.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Vo Van Phi requested involved units to coordinate closely in order to speed up the progress of site clearance for the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project. In the immediate future, it is necessary to quickly reclaim public land, traffic land, rivers and streams for contractors to construct. As for Bien Hoa City and Long Thanh district, they must accelerate the construction progress of resettlement areas.
The Department of Transport must review the need for embankment land of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressway project phase 1, projects implemented by the central government in the province and projects implemented by the province. In addition, the department also should review the land needs for other projects as well as the needs of people for construction works. Based on these information, the Department of Nature Resources and Environment will summarize and submit the report to the Provincial People's Committee. As for the Bien Hoa – Vung Tau expressway project, due to the urgency of this project, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment should submit a document to the Provincial People's Committee asking the government to allow continued use of land resources in agricultural land reclamation projects in service of the project's construction.
