The Japan - Vietnam Cuisine Association visited Dong Nai province.

 (News Portal – Dong Nai) - On September 8th, at the Provincial People's Committee's Ceremony Room, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung and representatives of leaders of departments and offices welcomed the delegation of the Japan - Vietnam Cuisine Association (JVGA) led by Mr. Matsuo Tomoyuki - Representative Director of the Japan - Vietnam Cuisine Association.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung welcomed the delegation of the Japan - Vietnam Cuisine Association (JVGA) 

At the reception, Vice Chairman Nguyen Son Hung informed the delegation about the socio-economic situation of the province. Accordingly, Dong Nai province has a favorable geographical location, synchronous infrastructure and connected transportation system, especially Long Thanh International Airport, which is being constructed and is expected to come into operation in 2025 are important factors to promote socio-economic development and attract investment. Dong Nai province also has beautiful natural landscapes, favorable for tourism development. The Vice Chairman also introduced some tourist destinations, culture, and agricultural products of the province to the Delegation and hoped that the Delegation would have interesting experiences of what Dong Nai province has to offer.

Also at the meeting, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development provided information about the situation of agricultural production in the province. It is known that pig and chicken husbandries are one of the province strong points. Regarding cultivation, Dong Nai has natural resources, soil and favorable location to develop fruit trees with high economic value. The entire province has 140 plantations with an area of ​​tens of thousands of hectares with tropical fruits such as mango, banana, rambutan, jackfruit, durian... Some fruit trees are among the top in growing scale and productivity in the country, such as banana, mango, grapefruit, durian…. Currently, there are two fruit plantations in the province that have been granted geographical indications: the grapefruit plantations in Tan Trieu and the rambutan plantations in Long Khanh.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Son Hung presented a souvenir to Mr. Matsuo Tomoyuki, Representative Director of the Japan - Vietnam Cuisine Association. 

At the meeting, Mr. Matsuo Tomoyuki gave an introduction of the Japan - Vietnam Cuisine Association. It was established in January 2020 in Japan to promote traditional dishes imbued with culinary culture as well as agricultural products of Vietnam and Japan. Currently, the Association is implementing a one-product-per-province project, called the "110VJ.LOVE" project (the number 110 comes from the combination of 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam and 47 prefectures of Japan). Recently, the Association has completed the selection and brought 63 products from 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam, including products from the mango and ginger growing areas in Dong Nai province. These products were exhibited at the food industry exhibition – Foodex 2023 held in Tokyo, Japan last March.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Son Hung took commemorative photos with the Japanese delegation. 

Through the project "110VJ.LOVE", the Association targets "agricultural tourism", by introducing each typical agricultural product of each province, the Association wishes to introduce the “signature" landscapes, culture, and environment as well as manufacturers and farmers of that land to develop local agricultural tourism. The Association wishes to connect with Dong Nai province to exchange and help young Japanese generations gain experience and knowledge to apply in various fields and develop career opportunities between the two countries, spreading the dynamic and creative image, cuisine, culture and people of Dong Nai in particular and Vietnam in general to the region and the world.

During the delegation's working framework in Dong Nai, the delegation interacted with students of Lac Hong University and visited a number of Japanese businesses investing in Dong Nai. ​​​
