On
Jul 24th Provincial Women Union held a traditional activity by visiting
the vestige of Tan Hiep Prison and burning incense to commemorate
heroic martyrs, among whom 18 females died. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri, Vice
Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee, attended this ceremony.

Giving his speech at the ceremony commemorating heroic martyrs who died at Tan Hiep Prison, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, Chairwomen of Provincial Women Union, said that such activity conveys an educative meaning, promoting the revolutionary traditions as well as the spirit of “giving credit where credit is due”. This also helped female officials and members of the Union to know more about historical monuments in Dong Nai and heroic martyrs including females who died for our independence and freedom, highlighting the national pride in general and the perseverance and indomitability of Vietnamese women in particular.
In this activity, beside burning incense, visiting and listening to the presentation on the Monument, participants also heard real stories about the hardship time and the heroic spirit of revelatory fighters who would never yield to the enemy for the days of captivity by Ms. Tran Thi Hoa, former Chairwoman of Women Union and former political prisoner.
On this occasion, The Provincial Women Union also gave presents to the families of heroic female martyrs who died at Tan Hiep Prison.
