to the Provincial Youth Union, paying tributes to national contributors
has become a regular objective of Youth Union of all levels in the
province.
Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Deputy Standing Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union said that, Dong Nai youth has performed many practical deeds, specifically contributing to paying tributes to predecessors such as: taking care of Vietnamese heroic mothers, organizing the “voluntary Saturday”, cleaning martyrs cemetery, student groups of Green summer voluntarily help families of martyrs and wounded soldiers repair their houses…apart from that, local Youth Union also held achievement report ceremony, new member admission ceremony, growth acknowledgement ceremony…through which has greatly improved educative practice towards members of the youth committee (ĐVTN).
* Specific activities
According to Deputy Secretary of Youth Union of Nhon Trach district Tran Dinh Su, the local entity usually maintains such activities as taking care for families of policy beneficiaries, wounded soldiers and martyr in the district, more specifically: undertaking to care for Vietnamese heroic mothers, providing medical check, medication to wounded soldiers, at the same time propagating the meaning of “paying tributes to predecessors” to memebers of the Youth Union through practical activities.

“Each good deed of the Union dedicated to families of the wounded and martyrs is a tribute to the predecessors that needs to be further encouraged…” said by union member Le Quang Thing, from Dong Nai university delegation. He also said, he used to join many activities organized by the Youth Union of the university, among which is the “voluntary Saturday” whose purpose is to help families of martyrs and wounded soldiers to fix their houses, maintain electricity and water pipe… After each activity, Thinh felt more and more joyful.
Ms Nguyen Thi Ngoc Dung, Director of the provincial Children’s House said that: the propagation of “paying tributes to predecessors” has been an traditional activity maintained by the board directors of the House for many years, in order to remind students and the youth of the contributions of martyrs wounded soldiers to our peace. On Tet holiday, the provincial Children’s House always takes children to visit and present Vietnamese heroic mothers and some families of the martyrs and wounded soldiers. the House also organizes “Silk clothes for grandmother” program to present Vietnamese heroic mothers with silk handkerchief and clothes on the day of the martyrs and wounded soldiers on July 27th every year.
* The youth not to forget the past
According to Tang Quoc Lap, Chairman of the provincial Youth Federation, Dong Nai youth nowadays and in the future must not forget the contributions of the martyrs and wounded soldiers who sacrificed themselves for the country and must strive more than what they should do to reciprocate. Currently there are more than one thousand martyr graves at the provincial martyrs’ cemetery being taken care of by the members of local units affiliated to provincial Youth Union. The Union also gives direction to local units of 11 districts, Long Khanh town, Bien Hoa city to assign union members to take care of martyrs’ cemetery, which should also be considered a good deed expressing their tributes.
In March, Dong nai youth successfully solicited donation to a youth project, presented a house of compassion and many more household appliances with total value of 50 million VND to the family of martyr Chau Thien Kim in Ca Mau province, who served in an anonymous train transporting food, weapons to the South battle field.
Bui Xuan Thong, Secretary of the provincial Youth Union said that, to prolong the tradition of paying tributes of Dong Nai youth, on the occasion of celebrating the of martyrs and wounded soldiers this year, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Dong Nai province directed the provincial Youth Federation to encourage young physicians, local Union units to perform medical check, provide medication to some families of policy beneficiaries in some localities in the province. Those who are parents of martyrs and wounded soldiers that constantly suffer the consequences of war will be taken care of by young physicians. This summer, many local voluntary student groups will hold many voluntary activities for the community, a long side with visiting and helping beneficiary families, meeting with typical wounded soldiers in the local.
Ms Le Thi My Phuong, Director of Labor- War invalids and Social Affairs Department said that for the past years, in cooperation with many departments and sectors of all levels as well as the society, Dong Nai youth has been playing the part of the pioneering force together with the province to take care of families of the martyrs and wounded soldiers through many highly positive contributions which are also specific and practical in terms of physically and mentally. Especially, the provincial Youth Union has propagated the tradition and meaning of “paying tributes” to Union members, so that each of them can live more responsibly and understanding more of the losses of the families of martyrs and wounded soldiers.
