Labor Union of Dongnai province calls for contributions in response to “Day for the poor” movement.

Free-of-charge eye operation for poor poeple

According to the statistics of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dongnai province, since the “Day for the poor” movement was launched in 2000, it has attracted and mobilized many organization, enterprises and individuals to make contribution and donation to the “Day for the poor” fund with the total amount of over 113 billion VND. Since then, the fund has been a crucial factor in reducing the rate of poor household from 10.89% in 2001 to 0.89 in 2005. Many households overcome poverty and their lives have been enhanced greatly by using capital from the fund to do business.

Presently, there are 3,795 poor households in the province. To help these households get rid of poverty, it is crucial that all organizations, enterprises, and individuals should make more contribution and donation in form of capital loan, production assistance, scholarship…
