Dong Nai wins 4 four prizes in the 8th national technical invention contest

The nation-level technical invention contest is a way to mobilize people from all walks of life to solve the technical problem of the country.

The development of science and technology will mutually influence on the socioeconomic development. Therefore, we have to use the powers of all society to invent new advanced technology so as to replace the backward and unsuitable ones. Technical transfer from foreign countries to ours should be adapted for our country. The invention machines and equipments and the researches on new materials to replace the imported ones also need the brainpower of all people. Thus, every technical inventions and improvements, even the small ones, should be honored and highly appreciated.

Dong Nai is one of the leading provinces which has great efforts to effectively organize the province-level technical invention contest. Over the past 15 years from 1990 to 2005, it has launched 8 contests. In the 8th nation-level contest, it has 6 technical solutions. Four of them were chosen to compete in the final round held at the Hanoi Opera House on January 19th 2006. And they were awarded as follow: 2 consolation prizes, a third prize and a second prize.

The first consolation prize was awarded to the solution of Mr. Vu Cong Tam, a doctor of Dong Nai pediatric hospital. The solution is a new technique to use ultrasonography to diagnose and to instruct the arrangement of broken bones.

The second consolation prize belongs to the software to teach and learn music for the six-grade pupil. It is written by Mr. Le Minh Phuoc, professor of Dong Nai College of Pedagogy. He integrates the content of music schoolbook for six-grade pupil in order to help them easily learn music.

The USK (stands for Usb Security key) and Encrypsign software manufactured by Dr. Pham Van Sang, director of the department of Science and Technology of Dong Nai province, and his partners won the third prize. USK is a portable and smart device with USB interface. It is the first computer peripheral device made in Vietnam. It is used to perform network login, e-office login, make banking transactions and especially signing, encrypting email, documents. EncrypSign software is used for two main purposes of encrypting data and providing digital signature so as to strengthen security and prevent data from being modified in the process of transferring in the network and internet. The application of this product has remarkably sped up to administrative reform in his department.

The solution of Mr. Le Thanh Hoa, an engineer of Dong Nai Battery Company, and his partners was presented the second prize.

At the awarding ceremony, all the winners from Dong Nai province demonstrated their solutions and highlighted the technical inventions in their enterprises. The attendance of Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai, vice chairman of People’s Committee of Dong Nai province shows that Dong Nai has placed great emphasis on activities to promote technical inventions and science and technology development so as to make Dong Nai become an industrial and modern province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem highly valued the achievements of Dong Nai province as well as activities to enhance scientific and technological application.
