Bien Hoa Industrial Zone 1 is located in An Binh ward, Bien Hoa city, and close to Dong Nai river.

The industrial zone was built on an area of 323 hectares in 1963. It is also the first one to be built in Vietnam.

Bien Hoa Industrial Zone 1 now has 103 manufacturers including 96 ones which are operating.

According to DIZA, only 36 manufacters have built their own rainwater and wastewater drainage systems until now.

The rest of manufacturers have released their wastewater into the same sewage system and then discharges directly into Dong Nai river.

The flow capacity reaches 15,000 cubic meters per day and the pollutant content is 10 to 100 times as high as the accepted standard

For this project to be implemented, Bien Hoa Industrial Zone 1 manufacturers will be assisted in relocating to Giang Dien Industrial Park in Trang Bom district.
