Industrial production in the non-state sector of Dong Nai developed rapidly and achieved a rather high growth in July 2005. Dong Nai’s total industrial output produced by the non-state sector during the first 7 month of 2005 amounted to 3,500 billion VND, rose by 24% over the same period of 2004, this accounted for 59.8% of year target.

Particularly, the following emerging industries contributed growth of local non-state sector: leather footwears and garments with an increase of 10% -12%, wood processing of 17%, pottery and ceramics and building materials of 9.4% etc. Accordingly, the estimated gross value of industrial production belonged to local non-state sector will be 510 billion VND in this month. The better performance of the non-state sector can be explained by some factors as follows: The consumption of products maintained stable growth; wood processing expanded into new markets such as Taiwan, Japan, US and so on, this helped pushing up its production value. It is expected to hit the goal of 88.2 billion VND at the end of July 2005, this makes up 17% of the total industrial production value of Dong Nai’s non-state sector. Besides, the production value will be increased by 7% -9% in the other industries of local non-state sector such as building materials, handmade pottery, foodstuff and drink and so forth.
