By the end of last June, Dong Nai has signed cooperation documents with the US state of Arkansas. This event is widely expected to increase the trading relationship between Dong Nai and Arkansas. US companies from this state have paid visits to Dong Nai to learn the business environment.

At the end of August 2015, Mr. Mike Roberts, Chairman of the Board of Made in USA Work Company (MIUSAW), has had a busy week working in Dong Nai. He visited the associations and businesses in wood processing, ceramic manufacturing, processing cashew nuts, coffee, rice ... "I visited the wood processing companies from small to large scale, the potteries, and food processing companies and here can realize good cooperation. There are plenty of opportunities for these products to reach the US market and especially in the state of Arkansas market" - said Mike Roberts.
Mike Roberts said that the upcoming construction of Long Thanh airport will help Vietnam attract more foreign investment, create advantages for travel and cargo transportation for businesses. Private enterprises in Dong Nai in particular, especially Tin Nghia Corporation (MIUSAW partner) has left very good impression to him. His immediate tasks while back the US is planning on sending the products that he had learnt to Arkansas for consumption. These items are in great demand in his country. He also said that after this market survey trip, he will not only bring home items from Dong Nai to Arkansas but also take some energy saving products to Dong Nai to consume. Apart from Made in USA Work Company, Target Group, Walmart are also seeking partners among Dong Nai companies to link and directly deliver goods to the US market.
According to the latest figures, Dong Nai goods have exported to over 160 countries and territories, including the United States which is the largest market. In 2014, Dong Nai province has exported to the United States with a total turnover of nearly $3.6 billion. Director of Department of Planning and Investment Bo Ngoc Thu said, the US is the largest export market of Dong Nai province, hence, the province really desires to associate with American companies to export goods directly, reducing intermediary costs. The US has 24 investment projects in Dong Nai province with total investment of $135 million. Most US companies investing in Dong Nai are in efficient operation and after a while they all have increased in investment capital and expanded production.

According to the Department of Trade and Industry, 8 months of 2015, the export turnover of Dong Nai to the US market reached nearly $3 billion, increasing 17% compared with the same period of 2014. This is the largest export market of the province, accounting approximately for 30% of total export turnover of the province. Some economists forecast that Dong Nai's export to the US market will continue growing, especially after signing the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP). US companies arrived to Dong Nai to explore investment policies in industrial, agricultural, service, transport industries also increased recently.
Mr. Giovanni Rojas, Senior Director, Sourcing and Product Safety & Quality Assurance, Target Group in Vietnam, said: "The Group is looking for companies in the fields of textile, footwear, wooden products in Dong Nai to sign contract to deliver goods directly to large retail system of the United States, for both parties’ benefit. Previously, many goods of Dong Nai have been exported to the United States largely through many intermediaries, then pushing prices higher, less competitive". At the end of May 2015, Mr Edward Kowalewski, Director of the investment and commerce program, state of New York with a number of state enterprises to visit and learn the policies for investment cooperation in Dong Nai and bring export goods to the United States. Fields that state’s enterprises desire to invest in Dong Nai are the processing industry, hi-tech agriculture production and transport. These are the strengths of enterprises in the state of New York, and also the priority fields which are calling for investment of the province.
