Select short-term seed for summer-autumn crop

This year’s summer-autumn crop scheme is postponed due to late harvest of the winter-spring crop. As warned from agricultural department, farmers should select quickly-grown, disease-resistant seeds with high yield and quality.

Short-term seeds should be grown for the summer-autumn crop

 

For rice, farmers should use such seeds as OM 4498, OM 6162, VND 95-20, OM 4900, OMCS 2000, OM 50404, AS 996. For corn cultivation, C 919, G 49, NK 46, NK 67, DK 414, VN 25-99, LVN 61 should be accepted and avoid cultivating long-term seeds such as DK 888, LVN 10; For soy-beans, use G87-1, G87-5, HN92; For green beans, use V 87-13, V91-15, HL 89E3. Take notice to scatter seeds when seeing regular rains; fertilizers, powdered lime and organic fertilizer should be used; good drainage should be practiced to prevent stagnant water; pest and disease should be treated on time.

According to Plant Protection Department’s warning, in respect of fruit and industrial trees, the cultivating area should be cleaned, grass-free, collecting and ruining plant remnants, pruning down trees. When it is raining, fertilizer and fungal antagonist Trichoderma should be utilized. Take notice to improve water drainage, especially for pepper plant and lime solution on tree root and body.
