Areas of Pest- and Disease-Infected Paddle Field Get Quickly Increased

Department of Plant Protection says due to moist and heated weather, a number of diseases such as leaf-folding, pale leaf and last disease causing damages to summer-spring crop get increasingly growing.

Pesticide spray follows the four proper ways

Currently the province has more than 700 hectares of seed-period and branch-split paddy in summer-autumn crop, up nearly 600 hectares compared with late June 2010. In particular, little leaf disease damages nearly 500 hectares, more than 100 hectares of pale leaf and 100 hectares affected by blast disease. The districts with the largest areas of pest-infected rice include Dinh Quan, Nhon Trach and Tan Phu.

As recommended by Department of Plant Protection, in coming days the weather continues to be warm and moist, allowing many types of rice pests to develop quickly. In order to prevent and protect rice effectively, farmers should use bio-originated specific pesticides and apply the "four-proper-way" method to farming.
