On July 16, Deputy Chairwoman of provincial People’s Committee (PPC), Phan Thi My Thanh welcomed and worked with the working delegation of Taiwan Business Association led by Mr. Hoang Chi Bang, Chief of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam.
PPC’s leaders informed the delegation about the support for businesses which are damaged in the recent protest against China’s illegal placement of oil-rig in Vietnam’s territorial waters on May 13 and 14. During the demonstration, some extremists took advantage of the situation to demolish and cause damages to more than 200 businesses. Among which, 82 businesses which are insignificantly damaged volunteer not to receive support, the remaining 123 enterprises with 80 Taiwanese enterprises have being confirmed the cost of damage to support by province’s competent authority. The insurance companies also come to verify damages to compensate for those enterprises.
The working mission of Taiwan Business Association expressed their appreciation for the attention of Dong Nai authority, especially the goodwill attitude towards investors.
