New Hoa An bridge, the gateway connecting Bien Hoa city to Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City was opened to traffic last weekend. Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, Minister of Ministry of Transportation, Dinh La Thang and Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, Dinh Quoc Thai cut the ribbon to inaugurate the bridge.
This is one of the key projects funded by the province’s budget at a total cost of 1.174 billion VND. The four-lane bridge has a total length of 1.3 km. After this new bridge has been opened to traffic, Hoa An old bridge is continued to be repaired and upgraded to put into use at the end of 2014.
* Last weekend, Government leaders, Ministry of Transportation, provincial People’s Committee also pressed the button to launch construction of a tunnel at Tam Hiep junction and a flyover at Amata intersection under the new Dong Nai bridge project.
Tam Hiep tunnel is 800m long, with a cross section allowing four traffic lanes, with frontage roads on both sides of the tunnel and local roads, etc. Steel flyover at Amata roundabout is 1 km in length, of which 203.65 m is the bridge, the rest is the path and the retaining walls of the two bridge ends. The total funding for the two construction items in Tam Hiep and Amata intersection is 485.7 billion VND, of which 361.2 billion VND is construction cost. After these two additional works items are included, the new Dong Nai bridge project will amount to 2.133 billion VND and its capital is recouped at toll collection station of Dong Nai Bridge.
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai praised Ministry of Transportation and Dong Nai province for having implemented a series of transport projects in one of the regions with the most crowded traffic volume in the country. These projects would contribute to ease traffic congestion, traffic disruption to satisfy the provincial demand for socio-economic development.
